A gunshot went off. I screamed and fell to the ground. The room, now turned into a full on fight, was overwhelming. I grabbed Aries, who now had full conscience, and crawled on the floor.
As I dragged Aries to the corner of the room, my heart was pounding with fear and adrenaline. I could feel my palms getting sweaty and my breathing becoming more labored. I knew we had to find a way out of this chaos and fast.
I looked around the room, trying to find an escape route, but the fight had spread across the entire area. Tables were overturned, chairs were broken, and people were screaming and throwing punches. It was chaos.
Suddenly, I noticed a door at the far end of the room, partially hidden behind a large group of people. It was the only way out of this mess. I had to act quickly before it was too late.
I whispered to Aries to follow me, and we started crawling towards the door. He just looked at me and nodded. We moved as quietly as we could, trying not to draw attention to ourselves. But it wasn't long before someone spotted us.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" a burly man yelled at us, pointing his finger. "You can't just leave like that!"
I froze, not sure how to respond. Aries, however, was quick on his feet.
"We're just trying to get out of here," he said, his voice surprisingly steady. "We don't want any trouble."
The man looked at us skeptically, but before he could say anything else, another gunshot echoed through the room. People started running in all directions, trying to escape the violence.
This was our chance. Aries and I took off towards the door, dodging people and debris as we went. It was a mad dash, but somehow we made it to the door and burst through it into the cool night air.
I had my hands on my knees, gasping for air. What in the world just happened. Aries walked over to me and hugged me. Which took me by surprise. But now it was my chance to ask the questions that were racing in my head. And he couldn't do anything about it. I just saved his life.
I push him off and start asking questions.
"What was that all about? Why were those people after you?"
Aries hesitated for a moment before finally answering. "I'm not sure. I think they might be after some information I have. But I never expected things to escalate like this."
I was still so confused but was also still trying to catch my breath. "What kind of information?" I ask.
"It's complicated," Aries said, looking around nervously. "Let's just say it's something valuable, and someone is willing to go to great lengths to get it."
I look at Aries skeptically. "Why should I believe you? How do I know you're not in on it?"
Aries shook his head. "I swear, I'm not. Look, I know this looks bad, but you have to trust me. Please."
"I don't know but you better know this. I just saved your life and you better be thankful." I said angerly.
"Well I was perfectly fine in there before you showed up." He said in a sharp tone. But I wasn't taking it.
"You were gone for a long time. You never answer my calls or texts. You just leave me saying your my "guardian angel" which sounds delusional. I don't believe you Aries. Now your telling me you have information on you that's worth so much?" I stop to take a breath. I was ready to go off on him. Aries just looks at me. Which made me more mad.
"Why are you so angry?" Aries finally asks, his eyes fixed on mine.
"Why am I angry? Are you serious? You disappear for days on end without so much as a text, and then when I find you, you have valuable information? And to top it all off, you talk to me like I'm some sort of inconvenience to you!" I snapped, my voice rising with each word.
