"Make sure you don't miss your flight?"
That's mum reminding me for the umpteenth time now. I've been on this call as soon as I was all ready to leave. All I was doing is waiting for Alex when mum called. He had promised to drive me to the airport.

"Yes mum." I respond and her last words are 'i love you' which I bother not replying. I haven't heard them since I gave my baby away. Plus, we don't have that kind of 'i love you' vibe. I mean I love her but I don't have to say it. In as much as it's surprising to hear them, I just hang up and turn to Ash. She's somehow noting down only she knows what.

"You normally do your homework in the bedroom." I say earning her attention. She knows how much I've tried begging her to accompany me. Her response hasn't changed.

"Grocery shopping." She says keeping the list inside her left trousers pocket. Then there's a car hooting. "Oh. That must be your boyfriend." Her lips curve into a smile. "You never told me how last night went."

"I'll tell you on one condition."

"I'm not coming with you. I need my freedom. Plus I'm sure you'll be fine. Mum and dad don't bite. It's been a while since you three had a sit-down together." She pulls me into a hug. "Tell me how it goes. I love you."

I pull back with a fake smile.

"And don't forget to tell me how last night's date went. I'll call you." She adds.

I hate this trip ahead of me. Alex is waiting outside leaning against his car typing something on his phone. Walking towards him, I fall in his embrace as he plants a kiss on my cheek. His eyes then settles on mine, his face portraying a smile.

"Ready?"

I nod as he opens the door for me. I slide in and lock my seatbelt. He rounds the car and  slides in. Ash waves us goodbye as we drive off. My flight is an hour away. The entire night, I couldn't stop thinking about what Jake told me. I'm not sure why. Do I have my doubts about Alex? I don't know. But I don't get why he did that to his brother.

"You're unusually silent." His voice disrupts my thoughts. "Is everything okay?"

"I'm just thinking about home. I haven't been there for a while. And spending time with both my mum and dad isn't my cup of tea."

"Why?"

"Because they ask too much questions." I lie.

"I'm sure everything will be fine. They were scared after that incident. I mean we all were. " And I turn to look at him. His eyes still on the road.

The journey to the airport is filled with short conversation. That's one difference between Jake and Alex. For someone who seems an introvert, Jake can talk. Alex on the other hand is the opposite.

"We have an hour to spare." That's Alex as I alight from his car.

"An hour to change my mind and decide that this trip is not happening." I say with regret lingering all over that tone.

He walks towards me holding my hands and his public display of affection is not my cup of tea. I've never done this but so I let him.

"I know that you'll totally disagree with what I'm about to say but I would want to come with you."

"Like you said, I won't agree on that. I'm not ready to start introducing you to my parents when they-" realizing that I'm about to open up I kiss him almost instantly.

Pure ecstasy. You know what I said about not being the PDA type, well, scratch that. It doesn't take long for us to break the kiss and never has this boy ever looked at me with lust. His facial expression, says so.
