Chapter 5. An Evening Swim

At sunset after everyone had finished eating something the sully family met up with the Metkayina teens at the beach.

"There you are, it took you all long enough" Aonung impatiently stated to the family. Loak gave him a glare and Neytam was about to speak before Tysireya interrupted

"Relax brother, it's not like you have any other plans tonight", as she rolled her eyes.

Na'tali laughed a little seeing the smirk on Tysireya's face and how pissed off Aonung looked. Neytam looked at her and couldn't help but also smirk at Tysireya's comment.

"Ok so who do we ride with?" asked Loak, eager to start the swim with the Ilus,

"ok um- how about Aonung with Kiri, Roxto you take Tuk, Na'tali with Neytam and i'll go with Loak '' Tysireya stated. Na'tali held a finger up as she was about to protest to the pairs she assigned, but she realized what she was doing and couldn't help but chuckle on the inside.

"What-" "how is that fair-" Roxto began to yell, he was too late though as Tysireya jumped into the water and yelled

"Last one to the rock get's tomorrow's morning chores". The rock was a place only Na'tali, Tysireya, Aonung and Roxto knew of, it was like their secret hiding place to get away from the clan. It had the best views of the village and sea, especially at night with all the glowing creatures. Na'tali ushered Neytam to come quickly, because she didn't want to lose the race, obviously. Neytam ran towards her before quickly eyeing Tuk. Na'tali saw this and the worried look he wore.

"Roxto is an excellent rider, no need to worry, he's great with kids too" she smiled and laughed a little.

"If you say so" he laughed.

"Come quick get on unless you want to be stuck with chores tomorrow" she said quickly, Neytam stepped into the water beside her and hopped on the Ilu after Na'tali showed him how.

"Like this" Na'tali said, positioning Neytam's hands around her. Neytam felt a small blush forming on his face, "hold on tight ok" she turned and nodded to Neytam. He nodded back, but Na'tali knew he had to hold on tighter if they were going to win the race. Tysireya was the first to leave and they had to hurry up, "I'm serious, hold on tight alright" she said one last time. Neytam nodded and positioned his hands a little farther around her waist.

"Yes mam," he replied.

Na'tali felt butterflies after hearing this, she could feel the heat of Neytam's hands around her waist. She then patted the Ilu on the side and they took off immediately, speeding through the ocean. Neytam tightened his grip on Na'tali instantly, he didn't expect for her to start off so fast, clearly she didn't want to lose this race. They were slightly underwater and Na'tali couldn't help but feel the butterflies in her stomach with Neytam's arms around her waist. She had to admit he was kinda hot, but she knew she didn't want to mess things up with a relationship. They were speeding underwater and easily passed Tysireya, Loak had fallen off the Ilu, Na'tali laughed at the sight of this,

still the clumsy old Loak from the forest

she thought. With them plenty ahead of the others Na'tali decided to bring the Ilu up to the surface for a breath. Neytam's heart was racing, not only from the adrenaline rush he got from the ride, but he admitted to himself he was catching feelings for this girl. They both slowly caught their breath

"Wow, that was so fun," he said. Na'tali turned to him and smiled,

"Glad you thought so" she responded. "Um, Neytam," she said slowly. He looked at her sincerely

"Ya?" he answered

"You can let go now"

Neytam looked down and realized he was still gripping Na'talis waist for his life from the ride they went on. He blushed and removed his hands in embarrassment from her waist before placing them on the handels behind him.
