The next morning started the same way, I woke up, eat breakfast on the balcony while I wrote a little in my diary and then changed into training clothes. I choose to run in the same direction as yesterday, when I reach the top to the bench from yesterday I see how it is already occupied, an older couple are sitting there together, holding hands and looking at the view. Instead I run a little further to sit on the bench a little further away, today it's much warmer, the sun's rays burn into the skin and the air feels drier, but it's wonderful compared to back home in London. When I get home again, I'm really sweaty and tired, today it was hard to run.

A cold shower later I'm back in the kitchen preparing some lunch, it's so hot today so I'm not in the mood for much, I'll have some salad with chicken and I'll also slice up mango, melon, strawberries and grapes a dish next to it. When it's this hot outside, I really don't get hungry, I get completely dull and tired, everything is sticky and my mood really isn't the best if I can't walk around in a bikini.
I eat my salad and fruit to a episode of friends, then I think about what I can do, it's too hot to explore more of the city and at the same time it feels boring to sit inside when the weather is so nice. After another episode I decide to change into a bikini, I put on a cute summer dress that is easy to take on and off and pack things that might be useful in a tote bag, towel, sunscreen, headphones and a book should be enough, of course I bring my wallet, mobile phone and keys. When everything is ready, I put my hair up in a sloppy bun on the top of my head, put on my sunglasses, and with my sandals on, I finally go back out.

The walk to the beach is quick, about 10 minutes, but before I even get there I'm so hot that the sweat once again sticks to my body. As soon as I arrive at the amazingly beautiful beach, I lay out my towel in a suitable place and then I take off my dress and walk towards the water's edge. The water is just warm enough, but the further out I go it gets colder and colder, finally I have gone out so far that my whole body is under the surface. It's so incredibly nice and cooling, I stay in the water for a few minutes before I head back up to my place on the beach. I lie down on my back with the headphones in and listen to music, I must have fallen asleep a bit because when I wake up again I hear someone talking around me.
"look there's my new neighbor, I just have to talk to her again" I hear someone say, I open my eyes and see Lando coming towards me.
"Hey Lando" I say as I sit up.
"Hey Kiana it was huh?" He asks smiling down at me.
"Exactly, what are you doing here?" I ask with a small smile.
He is so sweet, cute and looks to be the same age as me.
"My friends from England are here to visit, so we spent the afternoon on the beach" he says while turning his head and pointing to a group of 5 guys who are standing some distance away.
God he's from England too, how could I miss his dialect yesterday? Even better, I think before answering him with a surprised face.
"Are you also from England? I completely missed the dialect yesterday"
"Yes, born and raised in Bristol but have lived here for about 1 year now, where in England are you from?" he asks me while smiling and turning his attention to me again.
"Well, my God, that's fun, my friend grew up there, I've lived in London all my life, on the other hand" I reply with a small laugh.
"Big city girl then," he says with a small grin, "we're planning to stay here for another hour, then we're going to head back to the apartment before we go out tonight, do you want to come out with us?"
Wait what? So Lando asks me if I want to go out with them tonight? Should I? What if something happens? But then I realize that this is what I have to do to change my life, I have to challenge myself and meet new friends and this is the perfect opportunity. So I answer Lando a little cautiously.
"If it's okay with all your friends, I'd be happy to do it, I don't know anyone here yet"
"Absolutely, they'll just think it's funny. I'll come by you here in about 1 hour and we'll take the company to the apartment and decide more then" he answers and then he goes back to his friends, I see how they talk and laugh with each other, this can go either way. But I have to throw myself out and dare, otherwise I will never get out of this dark place.

A moment later Lando comes to me again, I have already put on my summer dress and am now sitting with my legs crossed and reading a little in my book.
"Are you ready to go home?" I jump a little when I hear his voice, he laughs a little.
"Oh god, I really didn't hear you were coming, of course I'm ready" I reply with a laugh while standing up and shaking the sand out of my towel before folding it into the bag. Lando's friends arrive not long after and all introduce themselves.
On the way home I find myself between Lando and a guy called Max, they talk and talk and are really super lovely. I already feel welcome and think I will enjoy myself very well with them. The rest of the guys have said almost nothing except their names, which I've already forgotten. When we get to the apartment and stand in the elevator, I ask Lando
"What time should we go out later?" While I check my phone a little quickly.
"We were thinking of eating out at one of my favorite restaurants and then going to the club, can you be ready in 1.5 hours?" He ask. 1.5 hours, I should be fine with that, it gets a bit stressful but it works.
"Absolutely, it will be great" I say at the same time as the elevator doors open. I go my way while the others go the other way. "I'll come and knock later" Lando shouts before closing the door and going into his apartment.
I close my door and lean against it, taking a deep breath. The smile on my face is big and I laugh a little to myself, what have I gotten myself into?
