DID JI SEUNGWAN EVER REGRET INTRODUCING KANG YOOJIN TO NA HEEDO? Maybe she did, maybe she did not. There's no way of knowing.
Maybe she did regret it because Yoojin and Heedo became the best of friends right off the bat after blabbering about whatever topic they were immersing themselves in, considerably draining her energy.
Maybe she did not because she was happy that the Kang was talking so much to someone other than her and Jiwoong.
Yes, Kang Yoojin is extremely friendly but that doesn't mean she gets past the 'acquaintance / somewhat friend' phase on purpose.
She didn't really like to involve herself to many unnecessary things.
And the idiotic illusion of love is one of those 'many unnecessary things.'
❝Hey! Na Heedo~❞
Kang Yoojin smiled widely as she waved her hand to the girl that just exited the gymnasium for the fencing team. ❝Oh, Yoojin!❞
Heedo brightened up, returning the smile— twice as bright than the other's own. ❝Hi!!❞
The Na practically threw herself to the Kang's arms, who caught her with giddy laughter. ❝Easy there, Hee! How's the fencing life going?❞
❝It was good, and I got to fence against Ko Yurim herself!❞
Yoojin hums in understanding, nodding lightly with a bright smile at the statement. ❝I see! Did you win?!❞ Heedo confirmed it, making the taller one shake her a bit too excitedly.
❝Congratulations!!!! You make me so proud~!!!❞
The volleyball player hums in great amusement as she continued to shake her new friend, somehow not noticing how dizzy the fencer now looks.
Ji Seungwan, who just so happen to be passing by, quickly pulled the Na away from the oblivious Kang and checked on her with a worried stare. ❝Were you trying to kill her or something?❞
❝Not really!❞
The stupid smile on Yoojin's face made Seungwan sigh. ❝I told you before, Na Heedo. 'Be careful around an excited Kang Yoojin.' Do you see know why?❞
Mentioned girl pouted softly in confusion. ❝What did I do this time?❞
Both sighed in distress.
Yoojin stared at the scene in front of her in mild confusion. If she could say, it almost seemed hostile and tensed but can the ever–so–dense and oblivious Kang Yoojin really read an atmosphere well?
❝Hey, Na Heedo! Jiwoong wants to eat street food! Wanna come with us?❞
Yurim and Heedo finally broke off their seemingly neverending staring contest.
They both looked at the grinning Kang either in surprise at the rare sight of her around the fencing club or brightening up at the sight of her. ❝Sure! Wait for me.❞
The Na bolted out of the room to pack her stuffs, leaving the Ko and the Kang to themselves.
Yoojin never stopped smiling as she gazed at the awfully familiar place, humming in mild amusement as nostalgia kicked into her mind.
❝It's been a while, huh...❞
She was sure that Yurim heard her muttering that.
Yoojin smiled innocently before averting her gaze towards the other's figure. ❝I guess I should atleast say a greeting to you... Hello, Ko Yurim! How are you?❞
It was almost surprising to see Yoojin interacting with Yurim at all.
❝Oh...❞ The fencer looked away immediately, her cheeks a tint of pink? ❝Hi, I'm... doing fine.❞
The Kang continues to smile right after that, not bothering to make further more conversation that would lead to a surely awkward situation.
So, the both of them stayed there, in an unbearable silence, until Heedo came back running to Yoojin.
❝Let's go, Jin!❞
How awkward, indeed. But that's what makes a good romance, isn't it?
