Chapter 19

It was now the Monday after Inka and Delaney left and Ebony made her way to school. She followed the same route feeling quite lonely with the loss of Michaels company, but she reassured herself that she would be able to sort out the mess today.

"Hey Ebony" Bella beamed, as she saw her friend approach the school.

"Hey" she sighed as they both made their way up the car park.

They reached their lockers and took out the books for their first lesson.

"I don't suppose you've made up with any of them then?" Bella asked, referring to Ashton, Michael and Mari.

"No" Ebony replied sadly "I feel like ever since I came here I've just split the group into pieces"

"Don't be silly" Bella frowned "all groups have arguments"

"Yeah I guess" Ebony smiled weakly, following Bella to the back of the class.

"Hey beautiful" Luke greeted to Bella, giving her a quick nose kiss.

"Hey" she smiled, pulling out a chair between him and Ebony.

Michael came in soon after and sighed when he noticed the only seat left was next to Ebony. She gave him a sad smile but all he returned was an unemotional gaze as he pulled out the chair and leaned as far away from Ebony as he could.

"Mikey" Ebony whispered, but he didn't answer.

"Michael" she repeated a little louder "please talk to me"

"There's nothing to talk about" he said plainly.

"But there is! You have to understand what happened" she pleased.

"Michael, Ebony, please stop talking in the middle of my lesson, unless you have something to share with the class?" The teacher said, glaring at the pair.

"Sorry sir" they both replied glumly.

"He kissed me, I never kissed him back I swear" Ebony said, her voice barely audible to anyone but Michael.

"How can I believe that? How do I know you haven't been stringing me along this whole time?"

"I guess you just have to believe me" Ebony pleaded.

"Well I don't" Michael confirmed.

Meanwhile, Mari, Ashton and Calum were in a class together and were currently working on a class project together.

"Calum, can you pass me the marker pen?" Ashton asked.

"Calum!" He exclaimed, waving his hands in front of Calum's face to bring him out of his day dream.

"Sorry what?" He said.

"Never mind" Ashton huffed "Mari, will you please pass me the pen?"

"You've got legs haven't you" she sassed glaring at him, before getting back to her piece of the project.

"Oh come on, please? It's right next to you!" He whined.

"I said no" Mari confirmed, not looking back up.

Ashton stood up in defeat and went to Mari's end of the table to retrieve the pen himself, but Mari 'accidentally' knocked it off the table with her elbow.

"Oops" She said sarcastically.

"What was that for?" Ashton huffed, but Mari just scoffed.

"Why are you being so rude?" Ashton questioned, narrowing his eyes at her in annoyance.
