EXCITED

“Pumunta kayo bukas ha.” paalala ni Leonardo sa Aces at sa mga kapatid niya na kasama naming ngayon sa isang restaurant.

Napagplanuhan na naming ang mga gagawin bukas sa aming sleepover. Mula sa kung anong oras kami dapat pumunta, kung sinu-sino ang mga makakasama naming, kung ano ang mga dapat naming dalhin at kung anong mga sasayawin at kakantahin namin. Everything is settled.

“Oo naman!” sagot ng tatlong payaso ng Aces.

“Siyempre, hindi kami mawawala sa birthday mo.” si Jonas. Lagi naman siyang imbitado sa kahit kaning kaarawan ng pamilyang Scottsdale. Magkalapit kasi ang mga Smith pati na rin ang mga Scottsdale.

“Palibhasa kasi close mga pamilya niyo eh.” sumimangot naman si Cyrus.

“Sige na umuwi na kayo.” si Adrian.

Nagkawayan na ang mga kaibigan naming. Kinawayan ko rin sila Adrian, Calvin, at Leonardo saka ako tuluyang umalis.

“Pupunta ka bukas?” Liana was so excited with her invitation. I was about to call her but unluckily she called me first.

“Of course.” sagot ko.

I was so tired with all the brainstorming and making plans with Leonardo, his brothers and Aces. I am not that talkative of a person but I swear, the guys got me talking for the whole time that we were making the great plan for our sleepover tomorrow.

“What if sabay na tayong pumunta bukas?” suhestiyon ni Liana.

Kumunot ang noo ko sa bigla niyang sinabi. Why would she think that? “Why? Hindi ka ba susunduin ni Adrian?” I asked, still confused after all the thinking Iʼve done.

“I told him not to fetch me tomorrow. Hindi ko sinabi sa kaniya na ang rason ko ay dahil alam kong sobrang busy niya bukas. I respect his time.” she said. Her answer was so simple that I exaggerated all the possible answers she could give me in my mind for no reason.

“Besides, napakalapit lang ng bahay naming sa mansion ng mga Scottsdale.” she added. Well, sheʼs got a point.

“Okay, Iʼll be the one to fetch you tomorrow.” sabi ko sa kaniya. She was fine with it, I hope Adrian feels the same too.

I already knew that Adrian was fine with what plans Liana makes in her daily life but still... I get anxious everytime Liana involves me with her plans. I know her for a long time and she was reckless—but not in a very bad way.

Pagkatapos kong makipag-usap kay Liana, inihiga ko na ang aking katawan sa aking malambot na kama. Sobrang pagod ko ngayong araw, I really deserve a peaceful sleep. Gusto ko pa sanang magbasa ng libro kaso bigla kong naalala na ʼyung librong gusto kong basahin ay sinimulan ko nang kasama si Frankie. That was the one thatʼs stopping me from reading another book or even continue that book.

Dahil inisip ko si Frankie, bigla na namang sumagi sa isip ko ang panaginip ko kahapon at kaninang umaga.

“Frankie...” I was nervous in front of her because I am asking her out.

“Hmm?” she replied instantly.

I performed deep breaths before asking away. “Are you busy this Saturday?”

“ʼDi naman, bakit?” She said. That somehow calmed my nerves.

“Letʼs have coffee.” The way I stuttered was so loud that I can barely forget how that sounded like. “My treat.”

“Sure. In fact, I have been waiting for you to take me in a coffee shop.”
