I try to go unnoticed, looking for platforms 9 and 10. I sit next to a pillar, of platform 10, glancing on each side of the platform to make sure if someone is looking at me or not, but in London the world was not attentive to those around. I start running towards platform 10. If anyone had seen me they would have thought that I was crazy and that I would crash at any moment, but every law of physics is canceled when I reach the other side, namely platform 9¾.
I was getting closer and closer to my fifth year at Hogwarts. Hogwarts was a school for young wizards and witches. There were 4 houses, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin, by the way the house I was a part of Slytherin was a house where only the ambitious, the cunning, but last but not least, the pure-blooded, or at worst half-pure, entered. Most were known to be Voldemort's followers. Yes, my parents were among them.
"Evelyn, I'm so glad to see you again," said a girl's voice behind me.
I turn to recognize that person's voice, but I could guess it from a thousand. It was Valerie, practically and theoretically my only and best friend at Hogwarts. We were in the same house and we got along from the start.
"Oh, Valerie! I missed you so much." I hug her tightly leaving the trolley with the luggage on the way "how was your summer" I ask, but our conversation is interrupted by a grunt.
"Who the hell put this luggage here? Full of incompetents!"
I turn to the boy who was whining continuously."Do you know how to do anything besides complain, Malfoy?" I answer the blonde as I pull the luggage out of the way. "My mistake, but as far as I know I'm not that incompetent."
"You were Bennett," Draco looked at me with a face of indifference. "Be careful where you leave your things next time."
Draco gave us one last cold look, just like his eyes, then boarded the train, along with Crabbe and Goyle's gorillas. Valerie and I giggle then continue our conversation looking for two free seats in the Slytherin area.
"The oddities of the oddities. These are our places " says a feminine and extremely angry voice.
Pansy was one of the most insufferable girls in Slytherin by default at Hogwarts. Everyone knew she was dead after Draco, the blond boy who stumbled upon my luggage on the platform not long ago."Parkinson, do us a favor and go somewhere else," Valerie says looking at her charges, Draco, his gorillas, Blaise and another girl named Eleanor.
"Pansy, come on, let's find some places" the blond says."No!" Pansy retorts "these are our regular spots so let them move their asses."
I roll my eyes, then turn to the group of die-hards next to us.
"Look, there aren't your names on these seats so we can sit wherever we want," I turn them around and look at Draco who seemed to want to get out of there faster.
"That's it, let's leave it to them, there are other places available" Malfoy insisted.
Blaise looked at him then they all took turns.
"Did you get wet Draco? Which one did you like?"
"What? None, what the hell Blaise? I'm not in the mood for a scandal, I've had enough this summer" he grumbles.
I'm glad he didn't say it out loud. I knew exactly what he meant. We've both had enough scandal this summer. I remember what happened, all the events unfolding fast forward one after the other.
"You know what..." I start to say and stick to the window "there is seat for everyone here."
Apart from Pansy, everyone approves of me and takes a seat on the two banquettes. Draco sat down next to me much to Pansy's displeasure. Blaise takes a seat next to Valerie, the rest is the same. I ignore everyone until the train pulls up and run to get my robe. We get off the wagons and head towards the carriages pulled by some invisible creatures some would say. Valerie and I get into a carriage, admiring the lake, until Pansy breaks the silence.
