9:00 am

In a shabby room, the room is 12x18 in size. The paint used to beautify the room had peeled off. A student size bed on the none tiled floor, a two-sitter chair backed the bed, and a small square table was in the middle. The old direct-View TV was placed on the wooden box a few centimetres from the door. The fan dangling sound yet not cooling the heat in the small cramped room

The television released a whooshing sound because of the heavy rain last night, which disturbed the booster (antenna) from its position. The boy sighed and padded his way to the television, hitting the back and changing the cable to each other. After hearing the presenter's voice clear on the TV, he smiled at his accomplishment and took the TV controller (remote).  Then he back walked to the chair and sat down.

He threw the tattered pillow on the bed floor as he grounded his incisor on the toothpick he picked earlier.

He skimmed through the channels to watch any exciting drama, but the monthly subscription has exhausted. He groaned, hissing annoying and took it back to a free channel.

"Uncle, subscription don finish ooo," he glanced back at his uncle, who was battling with his fingernails and hummed in response. (the subscription has finished.)

He shook his head, facing the television as he watched the top 10 most listened songs of the week. His body moved to the beat as he sang along to the teaser of it. Then abruptly, the music was held because of some urgent report.

“AT 7:00 AM, A DISFIGURED DEAD BODY WAS FOUND NEAR THE J-ISLAND. THE BODY HAS BEEN CONFIRMED TO BE THE DAUGHTER OF CONTESTANT S, A REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE  J-CITY MAYOR. AND THE JPD* ARE WORKING TO CATCH THE MURDERED, JUST A PIECE OF EVIDENCE COULD BE FOUND WHICH WAS A NECKLACE.” (JPD*; J-CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT)

The boy abruptly stood up. The remote he was holding fell from his hand as his eyes glued on the necklace in the transparent bag.

The reporter's voice was drowning in the background, “THAT'S THE EMERGENCY NEWS FOR TODAY. I STILL REMAIN….”

His heart thumped aggressively as he touched his neck to find his family heirloom was missing.

He turned to his uncle in fear, "I don't know."
