Deep within the forest, a young dark haired girl is lying on top of a fallen tree. Her eyes are closed as music plays through her earbuds. The girl opens her eyes, and sees the sun beginning to set through the trees. She sits up and checks her phone. She sighs,
"Shit, did I really sleep that long? I guess I should get back home before mom and dad do. I don't want them to freak out again."The girl puts on another song and starts heading out of the forest. The girl walks through the many trees and branches, totally absorbed by her music as she makes her way back home, that is until she suddenly sees something stand out among the dirt and grass in the distance. The girl walks towards whatever it is she sees. She suddenly freezes in place and takes her earbuds out. There is a person lying on the ground. The girl goes up to the person, they're a teenage girl like her. Her hair is a pure and bright white, and she is wearing nothing but an old torn-up shirt and underwear. She is visibly breathing and very much alive to the girl's relief. But then the girl notices something weird about the girl she found. The unconscious girl has the ears and tail of a wolf, with white fluffy fur matching her hair. The girl looks in awe.
"A-a wolf girl? What?"
The girl is initially confused, but then she notices all the marks and bruises on her body.
"You were trying to get away from someone or something... weren't you... But why would someone want to hurt you?"
The girl looks at the wolf girl's ears and tail,
"Is it because you're... different? Maybe, that's something we both have in common..."
The girl picks up the wolf girl from off the ground,
"I don't know what I should do, but I can't leave you here alone."
The girl carries the wolf girl with her back to her home just outside the forest, and lays the wolf girl on her bed. The girl covers the wolf girl with some blankets. The girl then sits down next to the wolf girl,
"I've heard stories about werewolves before, but you don't really look like how they're often described. Still, I've never seen someone like you before."The wolf girl suddenly sits up in bed and makes a big yawn, exposing her small but sharp fangs. The wolf girl opens her eyes to an unfamiliar place. The wolf girl sees herself in a bed covered in many soft blankets. Along the edge of the bed are little stuffed animals. The walls of the room are decorated with many different posters. The wolf girl notices the girl beside her. The girl's hair is jet black, and extends past her shoulders all the way to her waist.
"Oh hello! Nice to meet you!" the wolf girl says happily.
"Um, hello...?" The girl replies, unsure about what exactly she should say.
"I don't think I've met you before, what's your name?"
"My name's... Jade."
"Jade? That's a nice name."
The wolf girl then realizes something, "So um... where am I exactly?"
"You're at my house, or my parents house technically. I found you unconscious in the forest near here, and I thought you would be safer here."
"I was unconscious in a forest?" The wolf girl's happy demeanor fades away.
"So... what's your name?" Jade askes.
"My name? It's--" the wolf girl pauses abruptly.
"I-- I actually don't know. I don't really remember."
"You don't remember your own name?"
"No, not really. I don't really remember anything to be honest."
"So you don't know who you are or where you're from?"
"I guess I don't... but I'm pretty sure I've never been in a place like this before."
The wolf girl looks up and down towards Jade,
"I'm also pretty sure that you're not a lycan like myself."
"Lycan? Is that what you are?" Jade questions.
"I suppose so, that's what I've been called before."
"Hold on" Jade interjects, "Didn't you just remember something just now?"
"Oh? You're right. Maybe my memory's starting to come back."The wolf girl closes her eyes, she tries to remember at least something from her past. Within the dark emptiness of her memories, she remembers a voice saying the name....
"Himiko..." the wolf girl whispers, "I remember now... My name... is Himiko."
Jade giggles,
"Himiko? That's kind of a cute name for you."
Himiko becomes flustered,
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It means I like your name, silly."
Himiko smiles at Jade, and Jade can't help herself but to smile back.
"I'm guessing you don't remember anything else though" Jade wonders.
"Nope" Himiko replies, "That's all I could remember."
"Well that's ok for now I guess, at least I know you're safe here."
"Safe from what?"
"I mean... you're covered in bruises, and you're barely wearing anything at all."
Himiko looks down at herself, her arms and legs are very much bruised. The shirt she's wearing is stained with dirt and grass from the forest.
"What happened to me?" Himiko tries to remember anything at all, and it all comes out blank, "Why can't I remember anything?"
"I don't know..."
