Shayla

I sat at the club bored and uninterested as my best friend, Aliya, flocked to the ballers. I can't believe I let her drag me to this shit. She was my best friend and all but she was a flat out hoe. She had been linked to five ballers on the same team... Like how could one get away with that? Hey, I guess she loved the lifestyle and the perks that came with it. I'll admit that she was always rocking the latest designer shoes and bags. But I always wondered was it worth loosing your dignity and pride of being a woman over. Personally, I'd rather make my own money then have someone take care of me and be their booty call.

I watched as Aliya left with Elliot Davis of the Lakers taking her keys and all with her. No reason for me even to stop because she will swear I messed up her "game". I'd have to do what I usually do... Take a cab or an Uber home. I grabbed my clutch, phone and pushed way way out of the crowded club. Never again would I let her bring me here knowing I have work in the morning. I started trying to stop cabs, but they all kept going. If I didn't get at least four hours of sleep I was going to kill Aliya.

"You need a ride?" A male voice called out to me.

I knew better than to ride with strangers, but it was kinda tempting. I really needed to get home so I could get some rest. To the hell with it. I turned around to see a light skinned man with a little facial hair and dark brown eyes. He looked like any other basic typical dude around LA. I had seen him chilling in the section with Elliot and Aliya. I noticed him because he was laid back compared to Elliot.

"Before I say yes... Why?" He smiled a little, making dimples sink deep into his cheeks. His teeth were amazing and his smile was so cute and simple. Maybe he wasn't so basic after all.

"I saw your friend leaving with my friend and thought maybe you needed a ride." He shrugged as grabbed his keys out of his pocket.

I laughed a little.

"You're absolutely right." He walked over to a white Mercedes-Benz G Wagon and nodded for me to come on. What am I getting myself into?

"You coming or not?" He asked me making me snap out my thoughts. The mysterious guy was already headed to the driver's side as he was talking to me.

"I carry mace, before you try something stupid." I told him as I got in his hopped truck.

"I'm not going to try anything, lil mama." He smirked as he started the engine and pulled out of the parking lot of the club. His seats were pretty comfy. His scent was intoxicating.

"What's your name?" I asked him trying to figure out who I was riding with just in case something out of the ordinary happened.

I quickly sent my location to my mom and brother just in case. I texted Aliya and asked where she had ended up then looked up at the mystery guy.

"You don't know who I am?" He smirked.

"No. Should I?" My lip started to turn up. I mean obviously he had a little coint, but he didn't look like anyone I should recognize.

"Nah. It's Kaylon and you?"

"Shayla." He nodded.

"So, Shay, are you going to tell me where you live or am I going to have to drive around and guess?" He questioned as he exited onto the interstate. He kinda had a smart mouth.

"Do you know where Maple Avenue is? And it's Shayla." I corrected him quickly about my name.

"Yeah. But I like Shay." Kaylon shrugged as he turned up Bacc Seat by Roddy Ricch. He was going to be extremely irritating, I could already tell.
