I am Tamara of Vengerberg, the only female witcher. I have an older sister who is a sorceress, Yennefer of Vengerberg. She always wanted to teach me about magic and how to cast spells, but I was never interested. Luckily, when she met the love of her life, Geralt of Rivia (who is a witcher), I went to the same witcher school that he did, Kaer Morhen. I was the only female student, but I still became a witcher. A few years later, Cirilla came along. She is Geralt's daughter by choice. Ciri and I were best friends and I helped her become the amazing witcher that she is today, but she went missing all of a sudden. When she didn't come to class, I thought she just overslept. But when she didn't come to lunch or dinner either, I started getting worried.
"Where's Ciri? Is she in her room?"
"We haven't checked on her. We didn't want to interrupt her sleep."
I got up from the dinner table and walked up to her room. I knocked. No answer. I knocked again. Still no answer. I opened the door. No one. I was panicking. My best friend was gone. She was nowhere to be found. I checked everywhere in her room. No one was there. Then I realised that her window was broken. She had been kidnapped. I rushed downstairs to tell Geralt and Yennefer.
"Ciri's gone! I can't find her anywhere and her window is broken!"
Vesemir, our teacher, walked in. He had heard everything I said. Yet he didn't look panicked at all.
"Tomorrow at six, Tamara and Geralt shall go find her. They are the best witchers here."
I was happy to be the second best witcher, but afraid to go. I haven't been in the outside world since I came to Kaer Morhen. Years had passed since then and I had forgotten everything. But I agreed to go as I needed to find Ciri.
-----
Tomorrow came and I got ready for the adventures. I packed my sword, some oils, some alchemy ingredients and some provisions. I put on my best armor and made my way to the dining hall for breakfast. Geralt was already there.
"Nice to see that you only packed the necessary things."
I ignored him and started eating. I was starving. When I was done, Geralt asked me a question.
"You ready to leave?"
"Nervous, but I'm ready."
We left the dining hall and mounted our horses. We were about to leave when Yennefer stopped us.
"Wait! I want to give each of you one of these."
In her hand were three xenovoxes. A xenovox is like a magical rock which sorceresses use to communicate when they're far away from each other. I took mine without hesitation but Geralt just stared at his. I didn't know why he was so surprised.
"Where did you get this?"
When Yennefer heard that question, she seemed surprised.
"What do you mean? Every sorceress has at least two of them."
Geralt didn't answer and took his. He then mounted his horse, Roach. Vesemir opened the gates and we slowly walked out of Kaer Morhen.
"Keep in contact with me!"
Geralt and I didn't answer. While he continued walking down the path, I took one last look at Kaer Morhen.
"Goodbye Kaer Morhen."
