Don't be mad at the sun when it shines, or the rain when it falls, or the wind when it blows. Don't be mad at the fog when it rolls over the road, or the dew when it sticks to your feet, or the cold when it raises goosebumps along your arms.
Don't be mad when the clouds cover the stars in the sky, or when sand gets in your eyes, or when the sun blinds you for a moment.
Don't be mad if you feel like nothing is going right, or if your mother calls your name a thousand times, even after you replied. Don't be mad if you just can't get to sleep on the eve of a giant test.
Don't be mad at your brother when he teases you, or at your parents for yelling at you, or at your children for being foolish.
Don't be mad at the sun, or the rain, or the wind.
Why am I telling you this?
It's because you never know when it will be the last time you feel the sun on your face. You never know when it will be the last time you feel the rain on your skin, or the wind running through your hair. You never know when you will last step in fog, or when you will last stand in dew, or when you will last feel the cold.
You'll never know the last time you will hear your mother's voice, or your father's, or your brother's or child's.
You will never know the last time you take a breath.
Your life has been full of firsts, most of them predictable and recorded in some way or another; whether it be videotaped, or written down, or a photo was taken.
One thing you will never know is your last. When will be the last time you see your loved ones? When will be the last time you feel the sun? When will be the last time you breathe?
I wish I knew when my lasts were. That way I could cherish every moment in my life and know exactly what was coming. But we don't. We have no clue when our lasts are. So don't waste your life by being mad.
Live life now and cherish every moment as if it were your very last.
Treat others as if it were their last, too, because as much as you don't know your last, you don't know theirs either.
