Dexter was a golden retriever with a heart of gold, but his life was far from perfect. He grew up in a household with his older brother, Evern Ender, who was abusive towards him.
Evern Ender had a short fuse and would fly off the handle for no reason. He would often hit Dexter, leaving him with bruises and scars. He would scream and yell, making the poor dog feel like he was walking on eggshells.
Dexter was too afraid to tell anyone about what was happening at home. He felt like he had no escape from the dark cloud of abuse that hung over him.
