I tried keeping my hair in check while the soldier took me down the long descent into the large pit that was left after the stairs were destroyed. Bart was dealing with Theta, and I was being carried about. I stopped struggling for a little while as the man took me deeper into the pit. I watched the walls as we fell, and they began glowing with a red hue that illuminated the darkness around us.
We eventually landed on a cushioning mattress that broke our fall, and was mere inches away from being the thing that broke our legs. My legs were minorly in pain, nothing to worry about. In fact, I was never worried about the falls or drops, I was worried about not being able to literally stretch my legs.
I once again struggled against it, this time managing to slam my head into his nose, causing him to drop me and stumble backwards. I then proceeded to pummel the poor man for about thirty seconds. He never stood a chance in the first place(I could've done this earlier, but I didn't do it strategically), and now he wasn't willing to fight anymore. Now I can make my move! My thoughts implied. I then, of course, made my move, grabbing him by the scruff of his shirt and lifting him above me.
"Where have you taken me!? Is there a map here? Where is the bathroom!?" I yelled at him(ok that last question was a bit more selfish than the others but don't judge me). The soldier clearly feared me now just off the look on his eyes, and the sweat that poured down his cheeks. Speaking of sweat, it was sweltering down there. In my sweater I felt like I was gonna melt soon if I didn't find an ac or something in here.
"Um, welcome to the number mine!" The soldier began, "It's here that we harvest large amounts of numbers from deep underground.
"This is a joke isn't it?" I asked him, turning around with my back towards him. "If you're trying to harvest numbers then what would become of math? Would it become useless!" I joked about it, but his face didn't change expression, he looked serious about this.
"We use the numbers as power sources, but then again you wouldn't live to see it" The soldier's frown broke into an evil smile,"because now it's your turn to lose.". Immediately a horde of soldiers flooded into the room, grabbing me by both of my arms and putting me in cuffs. The goon that I was talking to turned out to be a general of 75 men (based on the medal on his shoulder). The general dusted himself off, revealing that the bruises that I thought to be bruises were but dust.
"Now then, you got my uniform dirty idiot, but at the very least I can lock you up now." The general said, giving a sly smile as they hauled me away. They lifted me over their soldier and carried me to the door that stood at the exit of the pit I was dragged into. Past the door stood a hallway, whose floor was draped in red carpet with gold emblems embedded into the design.
The designs almost looked like flowers, but the buds were a numerous variety of mathematical variables. From 𝜽 to x. Why so many mathematical references? I murmured to myself. No! No! You need to focus on getting rid of the 3 men that are hauling you like an Amazon shipment! You can worry about the variables later! And I knew the perfect way to eliminate multiple opponents first, psychological warfare.
With my teeth I grabbed a small pebble, and launched it at the back of one of the goons heads(it was in detective 101). The soldier below me whipped around to face the other soldier. The entire group stopped in their tracks, and they all looked at me.
I pointed to the middle soldier, who actually said that it was the soldier in the back who did it. The soldier in the back of the shipment line blamed the man in front of him, and just like I expected to happen, the entire line fell into chaos. Now I ran, not willing to test fate while being cuffed and all.
I exited through the doors and shut them, and nobody noticed I was gone. I was finally able to take a breath safely. I then readjusted the silvery hair that fell in front of my face, and started exploring the hallways. There were a lot of interesting things I noticed about the hallways here. One section of hallway was always straightened out, and in only one direction, unless it was a circular hallway. There were also a multitude of display cases that lined the walls. Everything, upon closer inspection, was perfectly symmetrical, except the hallways and the carpet design.
