Scaramouche's purple eyes burned through yours.

You messed up. Big time. And the Harbinger was absolutely furious.

"I fucking told you what exactly to do," His words were harsh as he poked his finger into your chest. "And what did you do? You disobeyed."

This is a time when you've been working with him for so long now that it seems like he can do or say whatever he wants to you.

You were in his office after a failed mission, getting yelled at because you did what you thought was right.

"The Tsaritsa is going to be so pissed," He cackles, pressing a hand over his face. "Oh, but you'll get away with it because you're basically her stupid kid."

"I'm not a kid, nor hers." You muttered.

"Well you sure act like one!" Scaramouche exclaimed, throwing his arms up in the air. "Thinking you're a pathetic hero. Did you forget what our purpose is? To rein havoc. To put people in their place. To do our job!"

You and Scaramouche were sent out to find a father of a family who did a crime. After finding him, the whole family was huddled in the corner of an old cabin, trembling with fear. You saw how scared they looked, how protective that father was of his wife and son.

Being the Harbinger in front of them, with Scaramouche waiting outside, you decided to let them escape through the window. You couldn't do your job. They were a family.

"You're weak and sensitive. Soft," Scaramouche spat, grabbing your arm tightly. "Absolutely useless."

When Scaramouche found out they escaped because of you, he went utterly wild.

Purple lightening hit everywhere. The walls of the cave, the old cabin, the snow. But he wouldn't let it hit you because there was a chance the Tsaritsa could punish him.

Instead, he grabbed your arm and dragged you through the snow, heading back to headquarters. He was pissed.

"They were a family. If you saw their faces, you'd-"

"Stop talking!" Scaramouche sneered. "I don't give two shits if they were family. They would've let each other down eventually. Tell me, do you have family? No? So then why do you care so badly?!"

"Because of the look on their faces. That man had to do whatever it took to protect his fath-"

"He killed a member from Capitano's unit. That's a huge crime." Scaramouche said, grabbing the collar of your coat.

"I know," You said quietly, avoiding eye contact. "But it's because he was defending himself-"

"Quit trying to make yourself feel better," He hissed, leaning close to your face. "If I catch you not following orders, I'll kill you myself. I don't care about the consequences. You're dead."

If you had the energy left, you'd choke Scaramouche until he begged for mercy right then and there. No, it wouldn't have worked out anyway. He was number six. Crazy powerful.

Instead, you held your head low and waited for Scaramouche to let go of you.

He did eventually, and you walked out of his office. You could hear him scoff, then let out a small chuckle.

Another memory finds it's way to the surface.

This time, you found the courage to stand up to Scaramouche again.

Tartaglia and La Signora were watching you and the Balladeer bounce around the room, dodging hits and slashes of ice and lightning.

"They need to get on the same page," Tartaglia sighed, resting his back against the cold stone wall. "Otherwise, we'll be down to ten Harbingers."
