"You killed me," his voice echoed in my head, "you are responsible for my death."

Wednesday

I cleared my throat as students started to pile into the classroom. Today is my day to teach and I was excited, to say the least. "Take your seats," I said as all of them started to merge into one spot. After all of them sat down, "A couple of weeks ago we talked about a love potion," I said, "does anyone remember the name of that said potion?"

Hermione Granger raised her hand, "yes," I pointed to her. "Amortentia, Professor," she smiled.

"Right," I paused, "I am glad someone remembered. At least one of my students hasn't completely wasted their last six years of magical education." Mr. Weasley's gaped at my comment. Are Severus' comments rubbing off on me? Am I turning into a female Severus Snape? I hope not.

"Today you will be taking a quiz on which ingredients to use in Amortentia. Tomorrow, we will be gathering ingredients and you will write a 2-foot paper on it," the kids groaned, "wanna make it five?"

They all shook their heads, no. "Then on Wednesday next week, we will brew the Amortentia in pairs of three."

"Professor?" Harry raised his hand, "why are we not brewing it on Friday?"

"If you paid attention in class you would realize that I only teach you every other Friday," I paused, "this week is Slughorn's turn."

The kids groaned, "but we like you so much better, Professor NightShade," Mr. Weasley smiled, but not a normal smile. Like an infatuated one. I cleared my throat, "You will do fine without me, Slughorn is a good professor."

"Where will you be on Friday, Professor?" Granger piped in.

"I will be assisting, Professor Snape with his dark arts class," I smiled.

Granger smiled, "do you like Professor Snape?" She asked.

"I like all my coworkers," I said with a smile and sat down in my chair.

She giggled.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing, Professor," she giggled again.

I nodded and grabbed the stack of papers on my desk and started to pass them out. I got back to the front of the room and noticed them all smiling at me. "Get to work!" I snapped. All of the students instantly looked at their papers on their desks.

What did Granger mean by that? Did she mean it some other way?

"Knock, knock," I looked up to see Severus leaning on the door holding papers.

"Professor Snape," my voice cracked when I said his name. He walked towards me and extended his arm out to me. He was holding a letter, "this was in my box for some reason," he stated.

"Thanks," I grabbed the letter from his hand and looked at it. I looked back at him. His onyx eyes glistened in the light reflecting on him. I cleared my throat as his eyes fixated on me. He cleared his throat, turned on his heel, and made his way out of the classroom.

I sat down and looked at the letter.

I opened the letter to find a written note.

Nicky,

I know we haven't spoken to each other since you started dating Sirius Black. I have missed you and wanted to know how you were doing since his death. We haven't kept in touch but I decided to go a different route in finding you. Your dad didn't want to give me your address or tell me how you were. I got in touch with Dumbledore and he let me know you were teaching at Hogwarts. My next bet was to write you this letter. I know you may still be mad at me for what I had done but we have been best friends since we were eight years old. Please reach out to me. My owl's name is Thorfin. Make sure you smile at him or he bites you.
