Lake House *ON HOLD*

Chapter one

Alison's P.O.V.

"Ally, can you help me put these table cloths on the tables outside?" My mom asked.

We're having our Memorial Day party to kick off the beginning of summer. We do this almost every year, except for two years ago because that's when we moved.

Me and my family live on a lake. Well, by a lake.

It's a pretty big lake too. Big enough for a speed boat.

My family owns a boat and a few jet skis.

We live in Virginia so it's nice in the summer and gets cold in the winter. But it's still fun to live by the lake.

Our Memorial Day parties usually consist of the neighbors and our other friends and family.

Sometimes people from across the lake come if they see that there's a lot of people.

Our house isn't too big but it's not particularly small. It's the right size for our family of four.

I have a twin brother named Charlie. We never really hang out with each other and we have different friends. We're both 17.

I answer my mom. "Sure mom."

We set up the backyard full of tables and chairs.

We had to clean the fucking whole house, even though I wouldn't have said that it was dirty.

Our party starts usually at 4:30 pm.

"Hey, sorry we're early, but can we help out?" My neighbors asked.

They have a daughter who's my age who happens to be my best friend. Her name is Erin.

We've always been best friends and once as they said that the house next to them was for sale we bought it.

"Erin!" I squeal running up to her.

"Ally!" She squealed back.

"Wanna go for a swim before everyone else comes?" Erin asked me.

"Sure." I say running towards the water.

"Allison Grace Anderson! Do not go into that water! You need to help set up." My mom yelled before I was in the water.

I sighed and walked to help "set up" when really me and Erin just talked.

"So is this gonna be bigger than your other parties?" Erin asked.

"Don't know, why would it be bigger?" I question.

"Because there's more people around here." She answers.

"Last year it wasn't that big." I say.

"Yea but, well I don't know, it just seems like it would be bigger because... I don't know." She says trailing off at random parts.

"Ok?" I said.

"Who's coming that's our age? Brandon?" She asks almost drooling.

Brandon is my cousin and he's our age.

"Yes he's coming. But he knows that you like him." I told Erin.

"Really??? Wait who told him?" She questions.

I just shrug.

"Ally! It was you wasn't it!" She laughs.

"Yes sorry." I laugh and she shoves me.

"Oh well, maybe he likes me." She said looking up.

"What are you looking at?" I look up.

"Just imagining what it would be like if he liked me back." She sighs smiling.
