Trisha walks into school, laughs and snickers come from both directions as she walked in, she was used to it being seen as the school nerd but all that tiny laughter became shocked gasps as Trisha knocked into Kylee, the popular girl, or as some would say, the all mighty.
Trisha stumbled as Kylee's books went flying. She quickly bent down to help pick them up, but Kylee pushed her away with a sneer. "Watch where you're going, loser," she spat before turning to walk away.
Trisha felt her face heat up with embarrassment and anger. For years she had endured the taunts and jeers from the popular crowd, but today was different. Today she was done being a doormat.
She stood up straight and called out to Kylee, who turned around with a look of annoyance. "What do you want?" she asked.
Trisha took a deep breath and spoke firmly. "I'm tired of being treated like dirt just because I don't fit in with your crowd. I deserve respect just like everyone else."
Kylee rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Good luck with that," she said before walking away.Trisha watched her go, feeling both empowered and scared. She knew standing up for herself wouldn't be easy, but it was worth it to finally be heard.
