Chapter 12: Can I kiss you?

We were at the park walking around when suddenly Alicia stopped me. "He's using a love potion on you," Alicia said.

"What do you mean? Who is?" I brought my cloak in closer to my body since it was cold.

"Do you love him?" She asked.

"Yes," I said, "how many times do I have to tell you?"

"Sirius is giving you a love potion," she paused, "you don't love him."

"Sod off," I said, "yes I do! We are in love."

"I know you don't love him, Nicky, you know this," she said.

I pointed my index finger at her, "you are just jealous that he loves me more than you! You just leave me alone and stop being so jealous."

"I'm not jealous one bit Nicky," she shook her head, "he was my sloppy first so you can sod off."

I brought my hand back to her cheek and rubbed small circles, "Can I kiss you?" My heart was beating fast and I don't know what was happening. In the past, I would've never asked for permission to kiss someone. Her eyes went wide after I asked. I knew this was a terrible idea. I knew she wouldn't want to. Just because she had a crush on me while she was in school it doesn't mean she does now. Such a fool. I shook my head and pulled my hand away from her soft cheek. I stood up, "never mind, just forget I asked," I walked to the door and opened it slightly.

"Severus? You didn't give me a chance to answer!"

"I already know your answer," I said, "You don't need to say anything just walk away from me," I pointed outside.

"Shut the door, Severus," she was upset but I wasn't sure why. I should be the one upset...

"Why?" I asked.

She scoffed, "so you can properly kiss me."

I felt my heart flutter when she said that. I shut the door and slowly walked over to her. "You didn't let me answer."

"You were thinking too long and I just decided I didn't want to hear rejection."

"Who in the world would reject you?" She bit her lip.

Phoenix

"Who in the world would reject you?" I bit my lip and put my hands on his arms. His arms are built but not too muscular. He smiled at my comment. "Kiss me," I whispered.

"As you wish," he whispered, he leaned in closer, his hand cupping my cheek as he pressed his lips gently to mine. His lips were soft and warm making me want him even more. He brought his other hand to my waist and pulled me in closer to him. The kiss was soft but soon turned passionate. He licked my lips asking for an entrance and I decided to tease him and not open. Severus pulled me in closer and soon stepped forward pushing me against the wall. I moaned as he pressed me tightly against the wall. As I moaned I parted my mouth so his tongue could enter. Severus groaned as he deepened the kiss. I brought my hands up to his hair to play and pull that exact way I had imagined.

Severus lips left mine and I opened my eyes to see him staring at me. "Pull my hair harder," he was assertive.

I nodded and pulled his hair on command. "You're doing such a good job," he groaned. I smiled at his comment and groaned. I liked hearing him groan it made my core drip down my leg. He brought his face back to me but not to my lips. To my collarbone, one by one he left small kisses. Making me moan. His hair smelled like eucalyptus and the ocean. He began his descent from my collarbone to my chest. I breathed out hard and he lifted his head, "is this okay?" He asked, "I can stop if you want me to," he was panting.

"Please, continue," I said and he smiled. He brought his face back down to my chest and felt small licks going across. Severus stopped and pulled the necklace out that is tucked in between my breasts. "I have been wondering what this was," he said.

"You have been looking at my chest?" I smiled knowing his answer.

"Well," he said, "I am a man and I have to say your chest is quite divine."

I giggled, "so what is this?" He lifted it and inspected it.

I gulped and shook my head. Why did I still have that on? "Um, it is Sirius' ashes."

He looked back at me with disgust, "after all that you went through you wear his ashes? God, I am an idiot," Severus shook his head and let go of the necklace.

"Severus, I'm sorry," I said while I tried to pull him from walking away.

"You didn't even love him!" He shouted.

"But at one point I did, Severus," I paused, "I think I did."

"You think?" Severus said, "he used you! He poisoned you for six months. You can't see that he never loved you?"

My mouth gaped.

"Get out," Severus said as he pointed at the door.

"But, Severus," I said as I tucked the necklace back into my cleavage, "please don't push me away."

"Please, Phoenix just gets out," he couldn't even look at me.

I nodded, "please don't make me go."

"I don't want to see you right now," he said as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me out of his chambers. I got out of his chambers and he slammed the door in my face.

Severus

Why in the world would you wear a necklace of someone that didn't love you? Why would you ever want to be with someone that didn't love you? Why think about someone like that when they didn't like you? I sat down on my couch. I just contradicted myself right there. I loved Lily or I think I did but she didn't like me back. Here I am knowing that it hurts to love someone and they don't love you back. She may have at one point loved him but he didn't love her. A person that loves you would never give you a love potion. What have I done? It hasn't been that long since Black passed why am I pushing her?

I self-sabotage is what is going on. That is why I haven't ever been in a long-term relationship because I push people away when they get too close. I stood up from my couch and made my way out of my chambers. I went to Phoenix's chambers and knocked three times.

She opened the door instantly, "what do you want?" She was angry.

"Can I come in?" I asked.

"Why?"

"Because I came to apologize," I said.

"Fine," she gestured to me and the first thing I noticed was the necklace on the table. The ashes spilled out and the string that held it together was cut up.

"You didn't have to do that," I said gesturing to the necklace.

"I didn't do it for you," she spat, "I did it for myself," she sat down on the couch and brought her legs up to her chest

"I'm sorry," I said as I made my way closer to her, "I have no right to tell you what to do with your body or what you wear," I got down on my knees in front of her and rested my palms on her thighs, "please forgive me."

She smiled and shook her head, "I am still mad at you. You have no idea why I wore it, "I sniffled and wiped my tears away.

"Look," I said while prying her knees open so I could put my body in between her legs, I rested my hands on the side of her hips, "I should never have a say in relationships because I have never been in a long term relationship much less a short term relationship. I'm sorry that I hurt you and I hope one day you will forgive me."
