Lads,
I totally forgot to mention to you last week that Harry's going to board the train tomorrow!!!
Like Harry, the cousin I've never met!!! Finally, we'll meet him. I can't believe that I've had the patience to wait so long.
I'm so excited but also soo nervous, like what if we don't click or worse. Severus's telling me that I shouldn't worry but I still do, a lot. Haha, you know me.
Anyway, see you on the train.
(and Fred, don't forget or I'll hex you)
Love, Ivy
Indeed, Ivanna Black, preferably Ivy, despite having reached thirteen years of age in early June, has not once met her cousin. They weren't cousins by blood but as her father had been adopted by his father, it was as they were related. Ivy has already packed her luggage, ready and overly excited to begin another year at the Wizarding School.
'You'll be capable of escorting yourself to the station, on time?' her adoptive father checked on her. He probably has to attend to a meeting again.
'I'll be alright,' Ivy answered as they entered the main hall of Kings Cross.
'Do not try anything again,' he said sternly.
'You got it,' she smiled, knowingly that she will not cause anything on the train, just right after she'll stepped off. Last year might have been wicked, but without avail. There were consequences to account for, as the Slytherins who had so rudely insulted them as they went by. Nothing a few items couldn't fix.
'I mean it. Behave' and he meant it.
To be fair, it was her intention to annoy him as much as she did, for as she thought him to be an unemotional man. Whether it was her eagerness to make him feel something or if she truly was sorted by her character, didn't matter, as she was pleased at his distraught reaction when the hat shouted 'Gryffindor!'. Probably from that moment on she realised, Severus Snape, her father figure had the emotional range from mellow to fierce.
On one hand she had wanted to make him proud, something which he did acknowledge, yet rarely. On the other hand, she wanted to annoy him as much as possible, disregarding the consequences. Ivy had to admit to herself in later years that she might have acted slightly bad-mannered, but neither crude nor foulmouthed towards Snape, which should make up for her antics.
Severus might not have shown his proudness of her through words, he did through actions. For instance, after she successfully cast her first spell with her own wand, he gifted her an advanced copy of charms which she had her eye on buying.
Through little things which showed her, he cared, made her thankful that he took her in. Even though the house, his childhood home, wasn't a cosy place at all. Despite that, she cherished it.
'Of course, I will. Last year's prank was stupid and by means poorly executed' she grinned at him. When she thought back to this moment, she was almost entirely sure, he was aware that something it going to happen. With that they hugged and Snape went back where they came from.
Not long until she met up with the Weasleys (as if they were hard to miss in any large crowd), whom she knew already, as they've practically grown up together. Ivy wasn't aware back then that Snape and the Weasleys were acquainted due to the Order, she knew only the reason of 'work relations.
'Ivy, why are you such a tease?' George inquired more rhetorically. 'Why can't I know what Fred's got?' Ivy knew, he'd be the one to read the letter first (out of experience), so she figured would only imply to things, either one of them would understand.
