Chapter One

   In my childhood life I never experienced to celebrate Halloween. Same thing for my sisters. All three of us felt we were prisoners in our home. I'm fifteen, my middle sister Maisha is ten, and my youngest sister Valerie is five. All those years when Halloween comes around, we're not allowed to go out. We only stay in the house until the spooky holiday is over. Our mom forbids us to have candy, costumes, and decorations. Including no pumpkins and no watching or hearing about Halloween movies and music. It's like our mom is the grinch and try to stop this wicked holiday. But this Halloween will be different and will not be ordinary. Two weeks before Halloween. That morning while I was waiting for the school bus. I heard My best friend Erica yelled for me and dashed to me.

Erica: Leslie!!!!!!! Do not look at your social media accounts.

Leslie: Why???

Erica: It does not matter just keep your distance away from Brandi.

Leslie: Why are you being overprotective? Is she planning a mean prank on me?

Erica: No nothing like that. I'm doing this cause I'm your best friend and the news might be

depressing for you.

Leslie: Erica just spit it out!

Erica: She got invited to Ryder's costume party on Halloween.

Leslie: You got to be kidding me!!!!

Erica: I told you it's depressing.

Leslie: No, it's disgusting.

Erica: I'm not surprised she got the invite. Her and Ryder are extremely popular in our class.

Leslie: Well, were not popular and he talks to us.

Erica: That's because he's not a stuck-up snob like Brandi.

The school bus finally pulled up and we got on. When the bus stopped at the high school, we got off and went inside the school. Erica and I went to our lockers, and she showed me what Brandi posted on her social media accounts. It's a picture of Ryder's invitation and she had red heart emojis. The caption said Can't wait to party on Halloween especially with you Ryder. She also tagged Ryder in the photo. I was super mad jealous. If I was invited, I wouldn't be able to go cause it's on Halloween. So, what's the point being upset in the first place. I don't think Ryder will notice me and he'll probably date Brandi.

Erica: Maybe we'll get lucky that Brandi has the flu on Halloween.

Leslie: That would be awesome, but I doubt it.

Ryder: Hey guys!!!!

Erica and I were shocked and surprised. When Ryder talked to us, I couldn't believe it.

Leslie And Erica: Hey Ryder!!!!

Ryder: What's up?

Leslie: Oh! Nothing new.

Erica: We just saw Brandi's post about your party on Halloween.

Ryder: Yeah... I didn't know she was going to share that on social media. Well anyway do you two have plans for Halloween?

Leslie: Well ....

Erica: No! Why you ask?

Ryder: I want you guys to come to my party If you're not busy.
