Her POV

Chapter 7

"When you get to school, say hi to that handsome boy for me " ,  Femi said to me as I got into the car , I didn't need an extra brain to tell me who she was referring to. "Yeah sure", I said waving to her as the car drove out . I felt so exhausted and it was only the start of the day and I couldn't stop thinking about what Jekimah said last night , "what did he want to give me that sounded so important?" I thought to myself.  Sighing, I put on my headphones and stared out the window enjoying the morning scenery and the aesthetic vibe the sun was giving with the trees around.
A few minutes later we got to school  I took my bag and got down from the car,  said goodbye to my driver and was heading for the classroom block when someone grabbed my wrist turning me around . Looking up , I saw it was Christian,  he had a full blown smile on his face and before he could speak I knew what he wanted to say ."She doesn't like you Christian,  get over yourself ", I said  and immediately his smile turned into a scowl , "don't worry , I'll make sure femi falls in love with me , just watch" , he said with determination written all over his face . "Yh sure ", I said turning back to head to class. We both walked to the classroom block but Christian went over to Jekimah's class while I headed to class . "Nimi !" Someone screamed my name from the front of the class and I knew it was Iremide,  I wonder what made her so happy and hyper . "Hi Ire ", I said smiling  , "guess what ?" Came her response  .

   "What ?" , I asked . "You're supposed to guess not ask me what " , she said rolling her eyes , " just talk , nothing's coming to head right now ",I said , " ok fine , so my dad is having some guests over and  naturally I dont like guests,  so he said I could stay over at the beach house and he agreed for me to invite a few of my friends ", she said all in one breath
 
      "So it's a sleepover  plus weekend party ", she added excitedly , "wait so you're inviting me ?" I asked . "Obviously " , she replied,  "arghh, I have no beach outfit, I need to tell my dad , what if he says no, I'm not readyyyyy", I said in a rush . "Chill we have plenty of time , this is just Tuesday and we need to be there by Friday, so we're still cool", Ire reassured before leaving to invite a few  other people.
 
   Today was a free day in school, which means we just take part in any extra curricular activity we are interested in and I knew just where I wanted to go .
   I opened the door to the school's art gallery and stepped in . No one else was here , just perfect.  I walked over to drawing room , picked out a canvas and set it on the backing board . Pulling a stool closer to where the canvas was , I sat and pulled out my pencil pouch . I closed my eyes to get a little bit of inspiration on what to draw but none was coming so I did what I always do in situations like I this . I just start drawing. I let my fingers decide for me .

      I was done . Setting the pencil down,   I looked up to take a look at what I had drawn . It was a drawing of younger version of Jekimah,  the one that asked me to marry him , laughing at that thought I suddenly remembered he wanted to see me . I packed my pencils in such a hurry that I fell a stack of drawings books but no one was here so definitely,   no one saw that. Or maybe that's what I thought.  I rushed out of the gallery towards the library , heading towards the elevator I saw a sign that read "Faulty , do not use " and that was when it hit me , E5 , of course he just had to choose the highest floor and the elevator wasn't working.  Guess we're going to have a little workout on these stairs.

   Finally E5 , I stepped in and began scanning for Jekimah , didn't take a minute before I spotted him in between two shelves,  E5 was always empty because it was the highest floor and it was stocked with  old 90's books , guess that isn't everyone's taste .
"Hey", I said announcing my presence. "You're late ", he said without even turning to face me . "Well , you didn't give me a specific time to get here", I said sharply.  Slowly he turned around to face me signing to me to move to where he was. I walked over to his side with brisk movements ."Your hands and close eyes after ", he said with a soft commanding tone , I put my hand in his and shut my eyes, I felt him putting something in my palm , it was cold,  it was metallic, he shut my palm . "You can check now ", he said with a small smile on his face which I saw after opening my eyes I looked at my palm and gasped . "My bracelet !" , I screamed but in a whispering voice  . "Where did you find it?", I asked .
  "Well , after you left that day I found it in my pocket and I honestly don't know how it got there " he explained and all I could do was to smile . "Did Ire tell you about the weekend thingy ?" I asked him . "Yh , she did ", he said as we both that on the window seat sofa facing each other . For the next 30 minutes we talked about anything and everything before Jonathan decided to interrupt. " What ! You brought a girl to our spot,  guy" , Jonathan exclaimed the minute he saw me .  "Stop being so dramatic , Jonathan " I said rolling my eyes.  "Alright , I have to go now ", Jekimah said standing up to leave  . "Wont you kiss your babe goodbye before you go ?", Jonathan joked but I don't think Jekimah took it as a joke  cause he turned around and walked over to me , he leaned forward a bit with his thumb and index finger on my chin making head tilt upward a bit and our lips . Just a breath away from each other . Oh my gosh  , my heart was racing,  my vision was blurry , I couldn't hear a damn thing and my breathing wasn't stable anymore.  Looking down at my lips , Jekimah smiled removing his finger from my chin and heading to the door. I knew what that smile meant.  He noticed the effect he had on me and that was bad , really bad . Meanwhile,  Jonathan was just sitting still, too stunned to speak. "It's your fault " , I said standing up, before I left the library.
