021. comfort
Sophia Peletier was dead. All the searching they did. Was for nothing. Sophia died the day she went missing. Harlow was crying into her sister's arms, Katherine held her close, shielding her away from Sophia's body. She hated that her sister had to see her friend like that.
Carol was still being held back by Daryl, she was crying so hard. Katherine couldn't imagine what she was going through. Believing her daughter to be alive, to only discover she was not only a walker, but had been in the barn close by the whole time.
Katherine didn't blame Hershel or any of the Greene's. They couldn't have known that the little girl in there was the little girl they were looking for. Maybe they didn't know she was in there.
Beth was crying in Jimmy's arms. Katherine remembers her telling her about her mother who died, Katherine assumed that one of the walkers in there was her mother. She wanted to go hug Beth, but after Katherine helped in shooting them all, she isn't sure if Beth wants anything to do with her now.
Beth pushed out of Jimmy's arms, stalking forward to the group of bodies on the floor, Rick tried stopping her, but she pushed through and stopped at one. Katherine assumed it was her mother. She crouched down and started to call out, the reanimated corpse of her mother started growling back, grabbing at Beth, the men all jumped in and pulled a crying Beth away so she wouldn't get bitten and end up exactly like her mother.
Beth ended up in her father's arm, while Andrea put an end to the walker.
"Come on, let's go back" Katherine ushered her sister, as they all made the walk back to the house.
"We've been out. We've been combing these woods looking for her and she was in there all along?" Shane started going at Hershel, "You knew"
"Leave us alone" Maggie retorted.
Rick tried stopping Shane, but he wasn't done, "You knew and you kept it from us" he accused.
"I didn't know" Hershel replied.
"That's bullshit" Shane scoffed.
"Shane, shut up. How would've they've known?" Katherine speaks up for the first time.
"They did, Katherine" he sneered, "I think they knew. Why was she there?"
"Otis put those people in the barn. Maybe he found her and put her in there before he was killed" Hershel defends.
"You expect me to believe that?" Shane challenged, "Do I look like an idiot?"
"Yes" Katherine mumbled, only Harlow heard her and giggled.
Rick tried again to keep Shane back, but he was still going.
