Kurt lived on a small farm in the country of Florin; his favorite pastimes were sewing new clothes, riding his horse, and tormenting the farm boy who lived there, his name was Blaine, but he never called him that. Nothing gave Kurt as much pleasure as ordering Blaine around.

"Farm boy, polish my horse's saddle. I want to see my face shining in it by morning." He told the raven-haired boy.

"As you wish." Blaine nodded. Kurt turned and walked away.

'As you wish' was all he ever said to him.

"Farm boy, fill these with water...." Kurt ordered and approached Blaine with two large pails; Blaine looked him deeply in his ocean-like eyes.

"Please?"

"As you wish."

That day Kurt was amazed to discover that when Blaine was saying 'As you wish,' what he meant was 'I love you.'

And more amazing was the day he discovered he truly loved him back.

Kurt was kneading bread dough in the kitchen, when Blaine had stepped in and dropped wood inside then went back outside.

"Farm boy!" Kurt called. Blaine stopped in his tracks.

"Fetch me that pitcher?" Kurt asked softly, looking up at a pitcher hanging above him. He knew very well that he could reach the pitcher, but he wanted to hear Blaine say those three words again.

Blaine slowly approached him, reached up for the pitcher, and handed it to Kurt.

"As you wish..." he whispers. Kurt couldn't contain it any longer; he loved Blaine and wanted him to be his.

"Kiss me..."

"As you wish...."

Blaine leaned in, and his lips gently grazed Kurt's.

Kurt had never loved another like he had loved Blaine; their love was more true than anything in the storybooks.

"Farm boy!" Kurt joked, approaching Blaine.

"Come with me for a ride."

"As you wish, my love."

The two rode through Florin and finally stopped to let the horses rest and have water. Blaine laid out a blanket for him and Kurt to sit on.

"I love you...." Kurt said, holding Blaine's hand.

"And I, you," Blaine said, gently running a hand through Kurt's chestnut hair. Kurt nestled into Blaine's arms.

"I want to be with you forever...."

"I want that too...."

But Blaine had no money for marriage, so he packed his few belongings and left the farm to seek his fortune across the sea. It was a very emotional time for Kurt.

"I fear I'll never see you again." Kurt cried as he embraced Blaine.

"Of course, you will."

"But what if something happens to you...." Kurt asked, and Blaine released the embrace.

"Give me your hand." Kurt did as told.

"Now hold it to your heart." Blaine moved Kurt's hand to his heart.

"Hear this now...I will always come for you."

"But how can you be sure?"

"This is true love. You think this happens every day?" Blaine said resting his hand on Kurt's face, then kissed Kurt on the lips. Kurt held Blaine tightly in his arms and refused to let go.

"I'll be counting down the days til you return."

"I'll make sure you don't have to wait long."

"I love you so much," Kurt said

"And I love you." The two kissed one last time before parting.

It had been weeks since Blaine had left, and Kurt was getting weary.

Kurt was working hard, cooking while his father helped the other blacksmiths.

"Kurt!" His father called.

"Welcome home, father. Dinner is almost ready."

"Kurt..." his father rested his hands on Kurt's shoulder; this worried Kurt more. His mother was sick with the plague the last time he did this.

"What is it?" Kurt asked.

"It's Blaine, son...he didn't reach his destination."

"What do you mean? Is-is he alright?!"

"His ship was attacked...."

"Attacked?!"

"By the Dread Pirate Roberts..."

Kurt gasped, and his hand flew to his mouth.

"Roberts never leaves his captives ali-" Kurt couldn't finish his sentence; tears began to pour from his eyes.

"I am so sorry, son-"

"It can't be true; it can't be!" Kurt sobbed as he ran to his room and locked his door, and for days he neither slept nor ate.

"I will never love again...."
