6 children all 3 years-old were taken away to a science lab where their lives would change forever. Scientists had discovered an advanced gene and had already experimented on animals with much success. They called it the Diamond Gene. Now, they were trying it out on children that had no connections to anyone so if they died, the wouldn't be missed. The 6 children, randomly picked from orphanages, had that advanced gene transmitted into them. It became a part of who they were and are. The gene allowed them to have superhuman powers. Now, 11 years on, teenagers Maggie, Abby, Alys, Will, Peter and Alex have discovered their powers and are still developing them. A secret agencie, similar to M.I.5 found out about their powers and brought them together in a massive training camp where they will learn how to use their powers and control them. In the meantime, a secret organization of weapon dealers are planning to bomb California, miles away from where they live. Will they be able to learn how to use their powers, fly out to America, find out where the bomb is, stay calm, work together as a team and dispose the bomb all while the time is ticking away?

Chapter 1 - Maggie

Thursday morning. I was still lying in my bed, waiting for the big alarm to go off. For the dreaded day to begin. I could hear the others, quietly snoring from the other rooms. I sat up in my massive bed, in my massive room. I looked outside the massive window. I could see the massive field through it. The place of our first training session. Everything in this house is massive. Even the house is. Ok, maybe house isn't the right word. Mansion. That's the right word. Usually, normal fourteen-year-old girls would get ready for school in the morning. But I'm not really what you call normal. As soon as the big alarm wakes everyone up, I get ready for intense training for my ghost powers. Yup, that's right, ghost powers. I discovered my power after the others. Yup, that's right, the others have powers too. But not like mine, different powers. I discovered my powers when I was twelve, through my biggest disadvantage: my shyness. I hate it when people stare at me. My blonde hair is like a wild bush, my freckles above my nose and below my eyes are like a pandemonioum on my faceon my face. My fringe (which needs cutting) always covers my eyes so I like to wear alice bands, so I can actually see. I had many insecurities but what I hated most of all, is when people stared at me. I just wanted to dissapear, turn invisible. And I did. Literally. I was attending the school, that my orphanage I used to live in was connected to, and there was a year play. Everyone had to have a part so I put my name down for the part of a speaking rock (don't ask), which luckily, no one had put their name down for. All I had to do was sit under some grey material, pretend to be a rock and speak when it was your turn. Unfortunatley for me, some girls in my class who knew I hated being stared at, put my name down for a bigger part. And what do you know? I got that part. I was on stage and there were so many people watching me. I was so terrified. I don't know how, but I felt this strange tingling sensation in my feet. The feeling slowly crept up to my legs. It kept creeping up. "Vanish, dissapear!", said one of my classmates, the person who my character in the play was talking to. Suddenly, the feeling was all over my body. Everyone gasped. The girl infront of me was wide-eyed with shock. I ignored them and looked down to see what was causing the tingling. Of course that is, if I could see my body I would have known. My body was completley gone. So almost as if it was on que, I vanished. My body was completley gone. Invisible. Everyone was looking at my direction where my visible body used to be. I could see them staring but I didn't feel their eyes digging into me. A sigh of relief escaped my lips and the tingling dissapeared. The audience gasped again. I didn't feel their eyes drilling anymore and finished the play. Everyone thought the dissapearing act was part of something me and the girl added to the show. She didn't question me about it. She was too busy being showered in compliments. We agreed it was her idea and people were saying how clever she was and how it added excitement to the show. I couldn't feel anyone's eyes, except one pair. They were the eyes of a wierd guy. His face looked really creepy. Half of it was in the shadow. He caught me looking at him and smiled, showing his perfect set of white teeth. I smiled back. He came over and I saw him properley. He looked young. He had wild dark blond hair and a piercing underneath his lip. I thought he was really good-looking. And I still do. His name was Jamie Chase. I had no idea then that he was to be my trainer two years on. For the last two years, I've never felt anyone's eyes on me anymore. But I still enjoy using my powers. They're quite cool. I have a couple of ghost like abilites. Walking through walls and stuff. But my favourite: echo. I can make my voice echo and sound really creepy. Usually used by ghosts to scare people off or if they're not scared, they hypnotise the person and make them leave. I can speak to ghosts too. They're not depressed and hunched back like you usually see in all those stories. They're not happy that they died and can't see their families anymore but, they're glad they can carry on living like this, with a new life. The huge booming sound of the alarm doesn't startle me. I punch the button that shuts off the alarm. I hear the others moan and hit their button. The alarm stops and we all get up. We get ready for hell.
