𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙊𝙛 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚

Giving birth was never an easy thing to do. This was the first time your water had broken at home, so in normal Katsuki fashion, he got you to the hospital in record time. You weren't even that dilated yet, so it was a waiting game at this point. "This kid better not take two days like their brother." You told Katsuki as you held onto the side of the hospital bed 'and swayed. It was already 4 pm, and you did not want to be here forever. The last time you were in a hospital you were getting stitches and wounds checked.

"I don't think Pumpkin's gonna wait that long, and considering your water's broken and you're pretty damn close to your due date it shouldn't be long." Katsuki moved you from the bed to lean on him, and you both swayed together. If you weren't in pain, this would be sweet. "You know, we never talked about it, but what do you think Pumpkin's gonna be?" You turned your head to look at him because when you thought about it you hadn't said anything.

"I want another boy." That put a bit of shock on Katsuki's face. "I'm guessing you want a girl?" "Of course, I want another girl, but I'm curious as to why you want another boy." "I love Kayoko, she is just a lot of personality wrapped into one five-and-a-half-year-old. Kyoichi is a peaceful little guy, sure a crybaby, but he doesn't do much." "He's also only two, he's gonna get that boy personality soon. I love how outspoken and loud Kayoko is." "That's because she's a daddy's girl." "Well Kyoichi is a mama's boy, so I guess we're both picking favorites."

You couldn't help but chuckle, it helped not to think of the pain if you were laughing. "I don't have a favorite child Mr. Bakugou, I may be a bit biased but I love all of my children equally." Katsuki lightly laughed while rubbing your back. "Well Mrs. Bakugou, I too have a slight bias but love our children equally." He kissed your forehead, and the two of you were caught in the moment. After a couple of minutes, you laid back on the bed to give your feet a break, Katsuki flipping through the channels trying to find something. A knock on the door caught both of your attention and because you were in labor Katsuki got up and answered it.

"Move." Mina pushed the shit out of Katsuki and walked over to you, stealing his seat and grabbing your hand. Katsuki looked at the woman in disbelief as Kiri helped him up and Ochako dusted him off. "Hey girl, we came to check on you after Katsuki texted the group chat. How ya doing hun?" "As good as a woman five centimeters dilated could be doing." Mina snickered a bit before looking at your hair. "You wanna tie up your hair?" She handed you a hair tie, which you thanked her for, and put your hair in a bun. 

Ochako and Kiri pulled up chairs, giving greetings and asking about you. "Wow everyone, thanks for doing my job, makes me feel like a very present husband." You were the only one to laugh because your husband was always so selfish when it came to his family. "You guys are alright, I need a distraction anyway. There's nothing good on tv and I can't eat so I'm trying to distract myself from that."

Mina thought for a bit before perking up. "Oh, Akio has his two first teeth!" She pulled out her phone and showed you all a video of her pulling his lips down and showing his two bottom teeth poking out. You all awwed because he was getting big so fast. "You and Sero thinking about having any more?" "God not any time soon Ei. One kid is enough for right now." Mina couldn't even fathom having another baby, she had no idea how you and Ochako did it. It was nice to kind of be a spectator in your friend's conversation, but Katsuki kept his eyes on you. He could tell when you were having a contraction, you'd let Mina's hand go and hold onto the rail, and he could see the slight look of discomfort on your face and the strain on your knuckles.

Even though most wouldn't take it to heart, Katsuki could see the silent suffering going on. It made him think about a lot of other times you'd done this, did something with your hands or feet to hide the fact you weren't doing well. The three stayed for about two hours before wishing you luck and promising to come back when Pumpkin arrived. When they left, you let your guard down and put down the facade, reaching out for Katsuki while you groaned in pain. Katsuki held your hand and gave you words of reassurance. "You know, the kids are team girl too." You rolled your eyes at your husband and his competitive spirit, and not feeling like responding at the moment due to your contraction.

Once it subdued, you laid back and breathed. "I wanna go to bed." Katsuki looked over at the time, only seeing it was 7:43. "You sure?" "Yeah, I wanna try to sleep before it gets worse." He couldn't argue with that, so he closed the blinds and cut the lights off, and when he turned around you were holding your hands out for him to come to lay with you. After some adjusting, you both were able to lie in the small hospital bed and get somewhat comfortable. You both listened to the hum of the tv for a while before both drifted off to sleep.

You'd wake up once in a while, breathing through the contractions and soothing yourself back to sleep. Katsuki woke up maybe twice, but you did your best not to try and disturb him too much. Of course, he'd tell you that was dumb because he's your husband and you're doing it together, but it still made you feel bad.

Katsuki woke up at about 4 am to use the bathroom, and while he was washing his hands he heard you let out a painful scream. He quickly wiped his hands with a towel before coming back into the room. You were sitting up in the bed, breathing hard while holding the sides of your stomach. "What's going on y/n?" "Call the nurse." "What's wro-" "Just call the fucking nurse Katsuki!"

He pressed the call button, and a couple of seconds later a nurse came into the room. She didn't even ask what was needed since you were wreathing in pain. She asked you to move so she could check you, and when she did her eyes went a bit wide. "What? What? Why the fuck are you looking like that?" "The babies crowning right now, we should've been in here a while ago."

She said she was going to get the doctor, and you leaned back on the bed and screamed. You don't remember Kayoko's birth being this painful, and since you got an epidural with Kyoichi it'd been almost six years since you'd felt this pain. Katsuki adjusted the bed so you were sitting up, and since you were about to push a baby out of you it made sense to put your feet in the holders. The doctor and two nurses came into the room, and you skipped the pleasantries and kindly told them to get the baby out of you.

All you could do was scream as they told you to push. Hot tears streamed down your face as you choked on your breath. Katsuki and the nurses attempted to calm you down, but the pain was unbearable and you felt like you'd rip in half. "y/n hun please, you have to calm down." Katsuki's words went through your ears and didn't connect with your brain, but once he grabbed your face and made you look at him it made you realize just how worried he was. You pressed your forehead against his, hearing only his words to keep your breath steady and calm yourself down. The pain didn't subdue, but you were pushing with less of a panic.

You were pushing for about five minutes, practically digging your nails into Katsuki's skin and struggling to breathe, but the second you heard the cry of a baby you took a breath of relief and started to sob. Katsuki held and comforted you until he was asked to cut the cord, and just like the other times he felt his heart grow a bit the second he saw his child. You hadn't stopped crying, so Katsuki rested you on his chest and told you how proud he was of you.

By the time they brought the baby back, you had calmed down and held your arms out to hold your new baby. "Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Bakugou, you have a healthy baby girl." You couldn't help but let the tears roll as your daughter was handed to you and you put her head against your chest. "Look at her Kat..." You wiped your face as you looked at her, and this time the tears were happy. She wriggled around a bit before opening her eyes, showing their pale shade of crimson. "Hi sweetheart, I'm your mom. I'm so happy you're here." She just looked and blinked, and the second she and Katuski looked at each other his eyes welled with tears.

You turned and handed her to him, and he was speechless. "Talk to her Kat." "I just... I don't know what to say." He lightly ran his thumb across her skin, and it was like his world was complete. All he could do was rock her while she looked around the world. You leaned back and looked at the time, seeing it was five am. She was the only kid to be born on her exact due date. Katsuki gave her back so she could enjoy her golden hour laying on your chest. It'd been a long night, but it was all worth it for her.
