Chapter 14: Patience, Princess

Severus

I knocked on her chamber door waiting for her to answer but nothing. I decided to unlock it myself and make my way in.

"Phoenix," I said, "I let myself in."

The door to the bathroom swung open and Phoenix appeared. "Hi," she smiled, "I will be right back."

I nodded. I took a seat on her couch and folded one leg over the other. She came out of the bathroom with glasses on.

"You look very nice with those on," I said, "I didn't know you wore glasses."

"I usually wear contacts but I'm exhausted from this week. Students this week have been on edge. Must be a full moon or something," she paused, "that's why I put my glasses."

"You look very nice in those glasses," I said, "I would say that it could be a full moon. My students have also been testing my patience."

"Did you ever have any?" She smirked.

"I did before I taught you," I said.

She giggled, "oh, there's the insults. I was beginning to worry that I would never hear an insult from your mouth since we," she stopped talking. Was she embarrassed that we had kissed each other? She walked over to her bag by the door, "I wanted to know if you have ever seen this book before," she pulled out an Advanced Potion Book. "I mean yes I have and I'm sure you have," I stated sarcastically.

"No," she walked closer to me and handed me the book, "look inside it." I opened the book to the first page. This was my book in school. I smiled. "What about it?" I asked wondering what she was getting at.

"Do you know who the half-blood prince is?" She sat down on the couch and watched me intently.

"I do, in fact," I said.

"You do?"

"I'm the half-blood prince," I said.

"This is your book?" She questioned.

"Yes," I said, "look at the handwriting. How did you not notice it was mine? I have a very distinct way of writing."

"Well, I didn't," she said.

"I'm surprised," I said, "for you having a crush on me while you were in school I am surprised you didn't know everything about me," she looked up in shock.

"I'm not a stalker," she pushed me a little.

"That's what a stalker would say."

"I only knew a little bit about you," she said, "plus, I had schoolwork to attend to."

"More like detentions with yours truly," I said.

She smiled, "I did enjoy looking at you in detention?"

"Oh really?" I asked, changing the subject before I got too aroused, "how did you get my book?"

"A student had it and I asked if I could look at it," she smiled, "I didn't know you made your spells and how smart you are. Crazy to think that you wanted the dark arts all this time. You are a genius in potions, and I would love to watch you cook more."

"I have been interested in the dark arts from a very young age," I said, "I like potions but the dark arts is a different story. So many different things to learn."

She smiled.

"I could teach you some things," I said.

Phoenix

"I could teach you some things," he said. I could take him right now. I wondered if he felt the same way. I wondered how long it was since he got laid because it has been six months. After Sirius' death, I couldn't imagine sleeping with anyone until I was feeling normal. Here we are feeling normal sitting in front of the most handsome dark arts Professor Hogwarts has ever had.
