I was just about to put on my jacket when my phone beeped, "Hey let's go to the mall :)" the text from my best friend, Alyssa, said. I replied "sure :)"
I put on my jacket and got in to start my car when I got another text, "You would LOVE this song omg" tagged in it was a song called Back Door by a newer K-pop group. "Stray kids?" I said, I've never heard of them but decided to give it a shot. As the song started playing I started backing out of the drive way.
"I'm on my way bb" I texted Alyssa. As I was pulling up to her house, she started running out the front door. I laughed and unlocked the car so she could get in.
"No way! You're actually listening to it!!" Alyssa said super excited.
I laughed and nodded, it was kinda catchy. She started singing loudly to the song while we got on the highway.
When we arrived at the mall we got out and immediately headed towards the shops, mainly her dragging me into super girly shops, I didn't mind though. I got out my AirPods and started listening to more music from these 'Stray Kids'.
I noticed Alyssa looking at me with a shocked expression on her face, I pulled out an AirPod to listen to what she was saying. "OMG LOOK" she shouted. There were some people walking around in a group and I looked at her confused.
"That's Stray Kids!!" she whispered to me like she didn't just shout. I smiled at her silliness and put back in my other AirPod just vibing to the music, currently listening to Deep End on one of their albums, then God's Menu came on and I started dancing a little to myself.
I noticed the crowd approaching and started to move out of the way, grabbing Alyssa to come with me, I don't like people very much so I didn't want to get caught up in that mess. When the crowd came closer to us, I paused my music again, starting to get annoyed, and took out my AirPods. I was starting to figure that this could get dangerous easily.
As I was taking out my AirPods I could hear someone say, "Let me go, I just wanna talk to her." Just when I was almost able to make my escape with Alyssa, she turns around and takes me with her. It's not like it was very hard for her, being 5'3 I didn't pose much of a struggle against her easy 5'7.
I rolled my eyes as she turned me around with her and someone was in front of me, "Why so annoyed?" he asked like he actually cared, as if he didn't have half the mall staring and screaming for his attention. "I'm Han by the way," he held his hand out for me to shake.
I crossed my arms and mumbled, "well you shouldn't talk to strangers Han, it can be very dangerous." He shrugged and smiled like he didn't really care and motioned to the chaos behind him, "I'd like to think the real danger is back there," he smiled which only made me roll my eyes again.
"Han, what are you doing? We have to make this fast remember?" Another dude in the group shouted from behind him to which his smile fell. As he was getting ready to join the rest of the group again he quickly handed me a piece of paper. I tried to avoid grabbing it but he pushed it into my hand like it was important. Figuring I would look at it in the car, I put it in my pocket and tried to push my way through the crowd, Alyssa in hand, but I ended up using her as a meat shield if I'm completely honest.
When we FINALLY got to the car I got in and started it up, "What did he hand you?" Alyssa asked and I shrugged, social battery running low after that. "Don't know, don't really care either." I said getting ready to shift gears to R. Alyssa stopped me and tried convincing me to open it.
"Why don't we just wait until we get to your house?" I asked, really wanting to avoid the sea of people about to leave the almost-closed mall. Alyssa smiled and nodded, putting more Stray Kids over the speakers of the car.
