"they think i'm fine! and heather likes my haircut! brandt loves maya dustin loves maya.. wait wait a second" maya said while anna was repeating what maya said.
"is there another maya?" maya looked at her best friend and new addition to the friendship.
all three girls sat thinking. "i don't think so.." melanie wondered. "no." "no" maya and anna confirmed.
the trio continued talking about how hot the boys were before the coach came over to the three with pe uniform in her hand.
"hey you three! you think you can talk over me?" she raised her voice waiting for the girls to answer before handing them each a grey shirt and dark blue shorts.
"i've got my eye on you three.. " she finished before walking away leaving the trio.
the girls got dressed into the uniform, maya and anna rolling up the sleeves on the shirt, while melanie rolled up the waist band on the shorts, complimenting her figure more. melanie also put her hair in a bun at the back of her head.
mel and her new friends sat down on a low bench, watching the other kids play kickball.
melanie was actually very good at sport, as she did track team and soccer at her old school. melanie was looking at the mostly lazy kids playing, her chocolate eyes drifting from middle schooler to middle schooler.
she landed on alex playing with his partner, it was brandt from earlier, the kid with the curtains. brandt looked back at her, winking. she looked around, was he winking at maya? no, she was playing patty cake with anna.
she smiled back at him confused and noticed alex glaring at him, his anger obviously showing.
brandt sat down next to her, shaking the bench, she noticed maya staring at his neck, so she decided to snap maya out of it.
"next! you, the new girl with the bun, go with mr nolan over here." melanie shakily stood up, noticing anna's eyes on her.
she walked over the the tall-ish boy. he smiled at her, receiving a nervous one in return.
"kick it mel kick it!"
he rolled the ball over to her and she striked it at him, she meant to get it behind him but it hit him right in the nose.
"oh my gosh." melanie gasped. she threw her hands over her mouth as alex rolled around on the floor holding his nose in pain.
"man down! take your victim to the nurse! " the coach said as she pointed at mel.
melanie rushed over to alex, "are you okay?" the boy replied with groaning. she grabbed his soft hand, helping the injured boy stand up and take him to the nurse's office.
