Rowan's POV

"Go after them Rowan, keep my daughter safe, she's a loose cannon and is likely to try and slip out after us" Ruby commands, she's in full Alpha mode and I know better than to test at this given moment, I bow slightly hoping to appease her mood before sprinting after Cana and Maylana.

Catching up to them at the pack house entrance, where the pack members all seemed to be swarming. Ruby was right I'm needed to keep the order, standing up tall I look over the sea of people and a few of them notice me and come over to ask me questions but I raise my finger as a sign to wait.

"My pack, please make your way into the hall" I command lightly and they make their way inside without question, I wrap an arm around Cana and lead her in, Maylana follows behind us.

Leading us up to the stage in the hall I sit Cana on a chair to the back and sit beside her whilst we wait for the pack to all be seated, Maylana lies at our feet. Cana has her head bent down and I can see her eyes are welling up with unshed tears, I wrap an arm around her and give her a comforting squeeze.

"Hay, it's alright" I try to soothe her although I don't think it's working all that well.

"I hope so. Its just she's my mum, I can't lose her or my dad either" She sniffles before wiping her eyes with the back of her hands, Maylana sits up and licks her face free of the salty liquid, making Cana giggle.

"Your mother is the strongest wolf alive, she'll be fine and she knows when enough is enough. If it gets too much she will retreat, she won't allow anyone to hurt those she loves, not on her watch. So don't you worry about her and your father. They'll be fine" Maylana informs, calming both our racing minds.

Looking back out I find most of the pack is seated patiently waiting for me to stand and speak, a few stragglers making their way to their seats. I sigh and stand, stepping over Maylana, I walk to the front of the stage and sweep my eyes over the crowd, spotting Ivory near the back conversing with a few pack members she used to know.

"Ivory!" I raise my voice to be heard over the crowd and she turns to look at me, beckoning her over, before excusing herself and walking up the aisle to meet me on stage.

"What's going on Rowan? Where's Ruby?" she asks, now the air of calmness leaving her to take on worry. I sigh, rubbing the back of my neck.

"No doubt you heard Olcans howl," I pause, looking for confirmation, she nods "Joe broke Jonathon and Carlson out. Olcan spotted them" I stop as Ivory's eyes go wide and she gasps in fear and shock, placing a hand over her mouth.

"I will explain everything I know to the pack and then all we can do is sit tight and wait" I tell her as I steer her to the seat next to Cana.

Walking back up to the front of the stage, I scan the crowd and those who catch sight of me stood there, quieten down and nudge others who are still talking. Within a minute it's silent and I take a breath before beginning.

"Good evening, everyone. Or well should I say bad evening. I have some bad news. No doubt you heard the howl from the Alpha of the normal wolves, good friend to our Alpha. He was howling to let us know something was wrong. Unfortunately Joe has broken Jonathon and Carlson out of the prison, taking out the warriors who were on duty. Both Alphas, our Beta and Delta are on their trail, as well as the Gammas and 20 warriors. Until I hear back from one of them I won't have any more information to give you."

The pack burst into loud chatter and converse among themselves, most of them seem angry and only a few seemed scared or worried. I turn from the crowd and walk off the stage, I can feel Cana and Maylana following me, Ivory stays behind to talk to her friends. I head outside and sit on the ground by the pack house, leant against the wall.
