Chapter 8

Jackson and I were still in the office just waiting for a really dumb reason to get in trouble by our parents. I was scared because my parents were already mad because of the fifty I made! I don't want to get yelled at in front of Jackson and get embarrassed. That would suck! Then I heard the office clerk call my name. She had her hand on the phone where you speak into, so I defiantly knew it was my parents. I walked to the phone and took it out of her hand. I then looked back at Jackson and spoke into the phone and said," Hello?" I heard my dad talking to my mom in the back ground. Then he replied," Shelby, what happened at school today?!" I then said in return," it wasn't my fault! This kid was saying bad things about me and tried to punch me, but then Jackson stepped out in front of me and took the blow. Then I..." My dad interrupted and said," Whoa whoa okay slow down a little bit." I said," the I put his hands behind his back so he wouldn't hurt anyone!" I told my dad everything that happened and he surprisingly wasn't mad. I was relived. I walked back to the couch and saw Jackson get up and go to the other where I was near. I was freaking out weather or not he would get in trouble or not. Miss think his parents are going to be just as nice as mine. He came back a few minutes later and he told me exactly what I wanted to hear. He didn't get in trouble! As some as he sat down school was over and I said I would just talk to him in the morning or text him tonight. When I got home I put my stuff down and grabbed my phone. I unlocked it and checked my messages. Turns out, he has texted me ten times so far. Wow! So I replied and we talk for a bit about what happened. I then texted him why that kid was saying bad stuff about me, he didn't reply and said he would tell me in the morning. Sounds like an excuse to me! I couldn't just jump to conclusions though so I agreed to it. We were going to meet up in the gym and he was going to explain what happened. I then texted back goodnight and a sleeping emoji. I plugged my phone up to the charger in the wall and turned my phone faced down so if I got any messages it wouldn't light up my room. I did get a couple in the middle of the night so I just turned my phone on do not disturb. I slept a great 9 hours at least!
