Goodbye Mason Thames

I look at the window of the car watching the lights and the stars of the night sky up above. The vehicle is silent the only thing we can hear is the turned-down radio with a random playlist playing and the sound of the car driving. Tears rolled down my face unable to control it. I could tell Eamon was feeling it too. He was quiet and the sounds of his heavy breathing showed me he was on the verge of crying. I was afraid to not have Mason by my side. I continue to stare out the window unable to control my thoughts. I keep looking to my side to see if Eamon was ok but I stayed quiet. I didn't want to start talking and then regret it as my talking ends up being me soaked in tears. I think though Eamon was glad I didn't say anything and I think it both helped us control our emotions.

We got home after what felt like a big road trip. The rest of the drive home was silent. I got home and went straight up into my room. I fell straight onto the bed and buried my head into my pillow. I lay there comfortably unable to move. My stomach muscles were hurting from the amount of crying alone with my eyes were red and raw that stung when I opened them. I lay there and cried myself to sleep.
