It seemed as if all of Rachel's previous progress was lost. Therapeutic progress, that is. When Rachel looked back at the car ride to their first home when she first thought Beatrice was crazy for sneaking into her home and replacing her birth control pills, compared to what was happening now almost made her laugh. Beatrice took Rachel off of all of her medications, Beatrice said that she didn't believe in medication and that the government could put chips and them and track Rachel. Rachel didn't care if the government did track her, but she doubted that there were any chips in her medication. Instead of the medication prescribed by a doctor, Beatrice forced Rachel took take marijuana lozenges. But somehow Beatrice still trusted Rachel with the kids, which didn't make much sense. Beatrice knew that if Rachel was off her medication then she could do serious damage to everyone around her, and the marijuana lozenges would mellow her enough to be as calm as she usually would be with her prescribed medication.

Rachel hated it. A part of her knew that, technically, that meant her sober streak was no longer a year and a couple of months but another part of her told herself that it wasn't by choice. Since Rachel was used to the effects of weed, all it did was sorta calm her down. Her choices weren't wavered by it and Rachel trusted herself with Elaine and Kennedy. The only time that Rachel didn't take anything was in tournaments. Beatrice may have been bat-shit crazy but she was smart too. The anger drove her to win. That along with Beatrice telling her "if you don't win this, I'll beat Elaine and Kennedy worse than I beat you." in the back of her mind. Everything Rachel did, was based on survival.

Think, survive, escape.

Those three little words were what Rachel now lived by. Rachel had to admit that there were some good days. Those days consisted of Beatrice being out all day, running errands, while a bodyguard stayed home with Rachel, Elaine, and Kennedy. Those were days when everyone could actually relax, and be themselves. Rachel always had difficult days with Elaine when she lived with her, and Rachel now missed those days. Elaine was a great kid who never did anything wrong, but it was strictly out of fear. If Elaine made a mistake, a mistake as simple as spilling a glass of water, she'd cry and start hyperventilating. At just four years old, Elaine was a perfectionist.

Rachel liked the guards. They did their best to take care of Rachel and the kids, and they never told Beatrice anything that would cause her to hit them. Then again, they never told authorities, Rachel knew that Beatrice was paying them well and that her bodyguards had many debts to pay off. But Rachel didn't blame them. They were sort of like stand-in Dad's. At least to Rachel, they were. One of them, Garrett, had even been a fighter at one point. He helped Rachel practice and motivated her during tournaments.

Today, was one of Rachel's least favorite days. Interview day. She didn't mind the questions or all of the attention, but the constant thought of Rachel slipping up and answering a question too truthfully which would ultimately result in a beating stressed her out. Rachel wiped her hands on her blue jeans. Her outfits were coordinated to appeal to her audience. Which mostly consisted of anyone who enjoyed karate, anyone who was attracted to Rachel, and creeps. She had kept one of Miguel's red and black flannel's, which was left open, revealing Rachel's black tank top tucked into her jeans underneath paired with simple white Air Forces. Her hair was always the same, simply just straightened and brushed out. Her jewelry usually pulled her whole outfit together. Big, chunky, silver rings on both of her hands. Two on each hand, to be exact, along with red bracelets and a black chain necklace.

"Guys, c'mon!" Miguel shouted as everyone gathered around Johnny's TV.

"Everyone's favorite karate champion, Rachel Lawrence!" Suddenly Rachel came from behind a curtain, waving with a big smile on her face before she sat down in a beige chair. "Rachel, we're so lucky to have you here in the Valley." The host smiled slowly, as he picked up a small stack of white cards.

"Well, I actually used to live here, so it feels great to be back home." She smiled, twisting the rings on her fingers.

"Her hair," Johnny paused, completely focused on the TV, "it's dyed." When Miguel looked back at the TV, he realized that Johnny was right. It wasn't very noticeable, her hair was now just a darker dirty blonde instead of light dirty blonde. Miguel knew it would become more noticeable as the summer went on because her natural hair got lighter in the summer.

"So, with all of the clues you've given us about Kennedy's father, paired with knowing he's also a karate champ, is all leading to one question. Will he be at the All-Valley tournament?" Rachel grinned, glancing at the floor as her hair fell in her eyes.

"I believe he will be," Rachel answered, brushing a string of hair behind her ears.

"So you've spoken to him?" The host asked, Rachel, didn't show any sign of freaking out. It was just another question, she told herself.

"Nope, not since before I left to live with my grandmother." The host nodded whilst glancing at his cards.

"We're gonna ask the annual question, Rachel, do you think you'll win the All-Valley Tournament?" Rachel smiled as the people from the audience clapped but it was then that Miguel realized something. Rachel would win, and Miguel knew she would. She knew Eagle Fang and Miyagi Do moves and Cobra Kai's tricks. But what would happen with the deal? They planned for Rachel to be in Miyagi Do, but now that she competed as "unaffiliated", and always won, their deal would be left unresolved.

"If she wins, then who wins the deal?" Miguel asked suddenly, causing everyone to think about the deal as well. Did Rachel know about Silver? Of course, she did, Daniel told his high school stories all the time, but did she know that he was in town? No, of course, she didn't.

"I know a lot of the people that will be competing and they're very good as well, but yes, I think I'll win." The host looked directly into the camera, making everyone who was watching think that he was looking at them, as a huge artificial smile spread across his face.

"You heard it here everyone, tune in on Wednesday, May eighteenth to see Rachel "The Boogeyman" compete in the All Valley. From what I heard, not many tickets to see her are left so if you wanna see her in person you better rush and get those tickets!" An ad for Cole's on Van Nuys car dealership started to play as the interview ended.

"We need to get that phone to Tory."
