"Please, Beatrice." Rachel pleaded. Rachel just wanted to go to the beach. Kennedy had never been while Elaine and Rachel hadn't been in a long while. She wanted the chance to be a kid. She wanted to give Elaine and Kennedy the chance to be kids, but Rachel just wanted a break. Usually, she wouldn't beg and plead with Beatrice, because it ticked her off fairly quickly, but this was different. This was about her kids, and Rachel would do whatever she needed to give her kids what they wanted.

"What have I told you about calling me that?" Beatrice asked as she pushed the ground beef around in a pan. Rachel wasn't sure what Beatrice was cooking, because it was nowhere near lunchtime.

"I-I'm sorry, but Grandma, Elaine really wants to go and Kennedy's never been. We'd be out of your way and I'd even take Garrett with me. It's just a better thing to do than letting them stare at a TV all day." Garrett looked up from his phone as he heard his name. He sat at the dining table, just in case Rachel needed his help.

"Fine, but you're getting all the crap ready, I have to run some errands anyway." Rachel smiled before she ran down the hall and into her room.

"I'll stay in here, but if I see any of the press, I'll have to go down there with you so Beatrice thinks I was with you." Rachel nodded as she shifted the strap of the beach bag on her shoulder. Rachel held Elaine's hand, with a bag hanging on her shoulder, whilst she held Kennedy's car seat in the other hand. Rachel was getting antsy, because Kennedy's car seat was back, and she was sure Kennedy's was getting rather hot inside of it.

Elaine wore a light blue unicorn bathing suit that she'd picked out at a Dollar General. At that same Dollar General, Rachel found an adorable bathing suit with little cherries on it for Kennedy. Also at that same Dollar General, Rachel found a much larger bikini for herself with cherries on it, but she wore a shirt over it so she could walk out of the beach without everyone staring at her breasts. It was a shirt from Miguel's first All Valley, with his last name in big, white, bold letters on the back. It sort of matched with her bikini, since the rest of the shirt was red.

Rachel laid down a blanket a little bit away from shore, just far enough that the water wouldn't touch the blanket but she could see Elaine while she sat on the blanket with Kennedy. Rachel had brought a boppy for Kennedy so that she could sit up and wouldn't have to sit in the hot car seat. She also filled the beach bag with bottles of water, snacks, Lunchables, baby food, toys, diapers, wipes, bottles of milk for Kennedy, a hairbrush, deodorant, towels, and a ziplock bag for collecting rocks.

"Can I go play in the water? Please, Mommy, please?" Elaine pleaded as Rachel pulled out the boppy for Kennedy.

"Yes, but stay right there, Elaine, or else I won't be able to see you," Rachel said, pointing to the area in front of the blanket that sat on the sand. Elaine smiled and ran into the water, Rachel pulled Kennedy from her car seat and placed her in the boppy. She planned on holding Kennedy as they sat in the shallowest part of the water, but Rachel knew that Elaine probably wanted some time to play by herself in the water. It wasn't too hot that day and Rachel nor Elaine easily tanned but Rachel wasn't so sure about Kennedy. So, even though Kennedy seemed to hate sunscreen, Rachel applied sunscreen to all of the skin that was exposed to the sun.

Elaine started bringing rocks and shells to Rachel every now and then, and each time Rachel accepted them happily. So far, Rachel didn't see anyone from the press or anyone who seemed to be from the press. Rachel had brought Kennedy to the water, just to cool her off a bit, and it was easy to say that Kennedy hated the ocean. At least she didn't right then. Rachel knew that once she got away from Beatrice, she'd move back to the Valley and Kennedy would love the ocean as much as Elaine and Rachel did.

"Diaz!" Rachel looked up but then realized that she wasn't a Diaz until she remembered what shirt she was wearing. She looked up again, her heart filling with joy as she saw three familiar faces. Her Dad, Miguel, and Hawk all ran toward her. Rachel quickly stood and ran to her Dad, wrapping her arms around his neck as she hugged him. She hadn't gotten a chance to hug him at the tournament, but she could now.

"Uncle Johnny!" Rachel heard as she pulled away from her Dad, wiping her cheeks from the few tears that she had shed.

"Hey, kid." Johnny smiled as he picked up Elaine, following Rachel to her blanket. "It's good to see you again," Johnny paused, looking straight into Rachel's eyes, "all of you." Rachel smiled slowly. Elaine withered away from Johnny before she ran back to the water. Miguel's eyes were stuck on Kennedy, who played with a little stuffed bunny from the array of baby toys that were displayed on the blanket.

"Congrats on the win," Hawk spoke as Rachel glanced up at him, a small smile forming on her lips.

"You too, Hawk." She said whilst picking Kennedy up. Rachel put Kennedy into Johnny's arms, and it was obvious that he was being overly careful with her.

"Dad, she's not a newborn." Rachel giggled, as Kennedy just stared at Johnny with wide eyes.

"Babies make me anxious," Johnny mumbled as he stared back at Kennedy before he quickly glanced at Rachel. "Why's she looking at me like that?" Rachel laughed, seeing Elaine get out of the water and play in the sand out of the corner of her eye, as her Dad held her out in front of him as if she were a ticking time bomb.

"Because she's never seen you before." Johnny looked up, seeing how enticed Miguel was by Kennedy, and handing her to Miguel.

"Has she said her first word yet?" Hawk asked as Kennedy gave Miguel the same look that she gave Johnny.

"Yeah, she says 'dada' all the time." Miguel glanced at Rachel, wishing he'd been there to hear Kennedy's first words. Kennedy reached down and started to play with the bracelets on Miguel's wrist, it made him smile. Rachel often toyed with his bracelets too.

"Now it's gonna be confusing when I call you Diaz." Johnny joked, making Miguel smile.

"She has my last name, right?" Miguel asked as he brought Kennedy closer to his chest.

"Yeah, I had to fight like hell for that." Rachel chuckled awkwardly, as she always did when joking about something traumatizing that had happened to her. Rachel's way of coping was typically humor, all thought not many people tended to laugh at those kinds of jokes.

"We missed you, all of us," Johnny announced as Rachel tied her hair into a ponytail.

"I can't tell you how much I missed all of you." She cleared her throat, she didn't wanna cry, she told herself not to.

"What's she doing to you?" Hawk asked, glancing at Miguel who was fascinated by Kennedy. Miguel wanted Rachel to come home, and soon.

"Loads of things, no matter what I do, I just...," Rachel gulped, "I don't know what I did to make her hate me so much." Miguel put a hand on Rachel's shoulder, which made her look up almost immediately.

"You didn't do anything, she's just some old hag that has nothing else better to do." Rachel smiled.

Rachel didn't want to leave, but she had to. Luckily, Garrett didn't have to walk down and sit with her at all. Even luckier, Beatrice was gone for the whole day. Rachel went to sleep that night, sadly knowing that she'd lived her most normal day in a while.
