That was all Johnny had to say. The two ran to Johnny's car, hopped inside, and ignored all of the speed limits and lights as they sped to the hospital. Johnny felt as if he were on hyperdrive, while his emotions were paused. He needed to go and see her, to get the kids, he had to make sure that she was alive. They may have said she was in critical condition, but that didn't mean something could've changed. Johnny swerved into the parking lot, Miguel jumping out before the car was even parked before they both ran to the receptionist's desk. A lot of other people were gathered there as well, asking about Rachel, people that Johnny nor Miguel had ever seen before. The receptionists ran around, trying to answer everyone's questions and take other people's money that were offering it.

"Excuse me!" Miguel said softly, trying to get the attention of the receptionists but they were so busy that they hardly even noticed Miguel. Everyone else was just too loud, and Miguel was just too polite.

"Quiet!" Johnny shouted, it seemed as if the whole hospital went quiet as he turned to the receptionists. "I'm Johnny Lawrence and this is Miguel Diaz, I'm Rachel's Dad and Miguel is Kennedy's Dad now where are they?" The two women in front of them looked at each other, of course, they'd been informed that Miguel and Johnny would show up, but they couldn't reveal where Rachel was in front of all of these people.

"Follow me." That's just what Miguel and Johnny did. They didn't know if she was taking them to see Rachel or to see the kids, but either way, they followed. The woman stopped in front of a room before she slowly opened a large white door. Inside revealed two police officers, one being a man and one being a woman, one held Kennedy and the other did a puzzle with Elaine. "Johnny Lawrence and Miguel Diaz." The woman announced, motioning to them as she spoke.

"We just need to talk to you two before we give you the kids." The woman police officer spoke up as she stood along with the male police officer. Johnny could see that Elaine was shivering slightly, but it wasn't because of the temperature in the room. The man handed Kennedy to Miguel who happily took her, but Rachel wouldn't leave his mind. He needed to see her, he didn't care how badly injured she was, he had to see her.

"Elaine's allowed to go with you, Mr. Lawrence." Elaine stood up quickly and ran to Johnny, who quickly picked her up. Elaine hadn't seen Rachel knocked out on the ground with blood spilling from different wounds, but she knew something bad had happened. Something bad enough for the police to come and for Beatrice to be sent away and for her not to be allowed to see her Mom. "Apparently the press took a photo of Rachel, Mr. Diaz, Mr. Lawrence, and a Mr. Moskowitz at the beach which made Beatrice go into a rage in which she tried to grab Elaine, and Rachel kicked her into a TV stand. After that, Rachel took Kennedy and Elaine to her room and hid them which is where she made the 9-1-1 phone call the phone call was recorded and it serves as evidence to demonstrate that Beatrice beat your daughter with her hands, her feet, and a wooden baseball bat." The police officer closed his eyes, letting out a small sigh. "There's going to be a court date, as soon as Rachel wakes up from her coma, and you'll probably have to listen to it then, or it may be released, and it's very disturbing." The other police officer nodded.

"She's in a coma?" The female police officer nodded, before bringing the group of them to the door, making them look out the small window.

"She's in that room, right there, but she doesn't look too good." The male officer pointed at the door right across from them, just before they opened the door for them. "You can look through the window, but you can't go in." Johnny was quick to rush across the hall and look through the window, all while covering Elaine's eyes.

The police officers weren't wrong. Her lips were puffed up, along with her eyes, all covered in blue and purple spots. Her skin was a bright white, almost a paper white, with small streaks of blue that Johnny knew to be her veins. Her blonde hair was crusted with blood, she was attached to machines, and her body was held perfectly still with bars. Similar to the same bars that Miguel had once had, along with a neck brace. Even Johnny, as opposed as he was to it, began to cry. He knew it was bad, he tried to do everything he could about it and listened to Rachel when she said she had it under control. But he really hadn't expected it to get this bad. With his little girl in a coma, on the brink of death, while Beatrice got to live. He didn't think it was fair. Rachel had tried, so hard, to be as good as she could and nothing worked. He just wished he'd done something about it. His little girl was hurt, and he could've done something about it.

But he couldn't have. Rachel hadn't expressed how ad it really was. In fact, she downplayed it on purpose. She didn't want anyone to worry about her, she thought she could save herself. And maybe she had.
