"Draw 4." Lena confidently said, placing her card down on the pile and causing Sage to grumble under their breath. Lena rubbed her hands together and slid them inside her sleeves to keep herself warm. In the middle of winter, the train stations were known to be painfully cold, but without anyone turning on a heater it was nearing hypothermia levels.
The train tracks still laid empty from the day the city fell apart. With no one to run them, and no-one in the city in general, they hadn't moved even slightly since that day. Not much had moved since that day. Most of the rubble and debris created was still left in its original resting place. The only people in this city spent most of their day inside this train station.
"Hey guys. Bad news, this is the last of the water at the nearest Coles, but we've still got heaps of stores we haven't tapped yet, they're just farther away." Curtis jammed the door open and threw a bottle of water into Lena's hands. She promptly took a long drink. "Nothing for me?" Sage whined, falling on her back like a dog would. They had just lost their 6th game of uno in a row to Lena, and were pretty down because of it. "Of course I got you a bottle of water, and a bag of popcorn as well," Curtis said, dropping them both into their hands."Where did you find these uno cards anyways?" Lena asked, shuffling them and stuffing them into the torn cardboard packet it came with. "I found them in a car I robbed a while back, before I met you guys." Curtis said quietly, "I thought they'd come in handy in some form. Turns out I was right." He smiled and rested his bad arm on the ground.
