"Kathy, dearest, I would like Alfred to drive you around town, so you can get a feel to this new place." My father told me. Honestly I kinda do want to explore this quite mountain town, but I know that he will make me sit in the back of my OWN limo. Did you hear me? I am only 15 and my parents think its appropriate for me to start living up to my family name. Thats basically rich people talk for "We don't like what you are, so we are going to turn you into one of us." Hell, I'd rather be poor as shit than turn into my parents.

"Madam," Alfred opens the door for me with an actually sincere smile. I know that anyone would get fired if they told my parents what they wish, but not me. Unlike my parents, I treat everyone with the same respect, no mater what their social status is. And as a thanks, they don't spit in my food everyday, like they do with my parents.

We pull out of our long driveway and head into the town. It was actually really beautiful. It had some parts that were....kinda sketchy, but I like that. It adds character. We drive around for a while, earning stairs from everybody, anybody we pass by.

"Madam, would you-'' I cut him of.

"Alfred! I told you to call me by my name. You can drop the act." I say seriously. I hate it when people treat me differently because of who I am. Well, he kinda has to, but still.

"Alright. Anyway, I think I saw a coffee shop, do you want a drink?" He asked. Yes Alfred is nice. Nice to me, at least. He's like, my only friend. No. He IS my only friend.

I say yes and we park next to a building that say Tweek's Coffee or something. We walk in and I am instantly uncomfortable. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE was starring at us. I walk up to the counter.

"Hi, um, may I please get a regular decaf coffee. And, uh, Alfred, what do you want?" I asked nervously.

"I'll have the same." He said confidently. Damn, I wish I could be like him.

We paid the man and got our drinks. I sat down and took a sip. Mmmmm. This is good.

"So, KK, do you think you're going to like it here?" He asked casually. I let out a sigh and i shrugged.

"Well, if it's anything like where we were back in Texas, you know my answer. But, this place looks nice. I don't know what do you think?"

He shrugs, "Remember, it's not important what the town looks like, its the people that makes a place home." He says.

We talk for about 20 minuets, enjoying the rare moment of peace. Then of coarse my phone starts ringing.

"Hello?"

"Where are you young lady? Tell Alfred to drive you home this instant!" My father sternly ordered. I sigh and shake my head.

"We need to go." I tell Alfred. He nods his head and we make our way home.

"Kathy, we are having a 'Welcome to the neighborhood' party on Saturday. I would like you to spread the word and invite anyone you wish. It has come to my attention that you don't have any friends and in the eyes of your father and I's peers that is pathetic." I know some people would pissed off by the way my mother talks to me, but this is actually a rare treat.

I get ready for bed, still excited for my plans. i have two days to make friends. Oh. Yeah. I hope they don't mind coming to my house. My mother would be extremely disappointed if I don't get anyone to come. Meh, do I really give a fuck? Naa.........
