1. Racing's in Our Blood

Annville High School. Ten Years ago

It was seven minutes till the end of class and my nose was in the manual for the Mach 7. It was the end of a normal day. Auto mechanics, algebra, French, science and others just to name some of my classes. "Racer!" I hear my name and I perk up. Mrs. Thomas had a note for me and I got up after placing a bookmark in the manual. I walk up as Mrs. Thomas gives me a kind smile. "Your brother is picking you up." She says and I nod. Rex would pick me up most days from school after he had picked up Speed as the elementary would release twenty minutes before the high school. I nod back as she dismisses me to sit back down. I sit as I start packing the rest of my books into my backpack and I keep my nose in my manual until the bell rings. I grab my bag and manual and walk out of class with my fellow classmates. I keep my head down as I walk outside. Outside was my older brother Rex and younger brother Speed. I put a marker in my book and crossed the road to the Mach 5. Speed unbuckles for me as I get in and set my bag on the floor and I sit down putting Speed on my lap as he excitedly puts the seat belt back on. "Slow down there Speedy, it's not the end of the world." I laugh, causing Rex to smile back at us. "Take it both of you are ready to go?" I nod as Speed also nods. He gets in and starts the Mach 5. "Rex is taking us to Thunderhead." Speed starts as I look at Rex. "He's wearing the socks and I told him if he rolled the Mach 4 and I again it'd be the last time. Do you want to practice? Just to get some skills in?" Rex asked me. I had finished all my classwork during school so I didn't have any homework to do, so I just shrugged. A few laps around Thunderhead couldn't hurt. "Sure" I say smiling as Speed cheered. That earned me a chuckle at my little brother. Racing was in our blood and it couldn't be washed out. It was something that drove the three of us.
