Aruden Oneshots

Beach Day (Aiden POV)

Hey! So, I realized that I've been doing these all in Aru's POV but I'm totally neglecting the other part of Aruden. Here's everyone's favorite Wifey!

Aiden relaxed on his lawn chair, trying to keep sand away from Shadowfax as he snapped pictures of Brynne and Hira having a picnic, Sheela and Nikita building sandcastles that looked like sand mansions, and Mini, Rudy, and Aru trying to drag each other under the water.

"Stop! You could drown and die!" Mini yelled, loud enough for him to hear her. He snorted, and Aru's head turned to look at him. She clambered out of the water and went over to him.

"C'mon, Wifey! Stop being so lonely and come into the water with us!" No matter how much Aiden longed to get in with them, he stopped himself.

"No thanks, Shah."

"C'mon! It'll be fun!" 

"No, I-" He couldn't finish his sentence before Aru ripped Shadowfax out of his hands, set it on the chair, and began to drag him by his arms to the water. "Shah, don't you dare!" She flung him into the water and the cold stung him. He emerged sputtering and gasping for air. Aru was nowhere to be found. "ARU!" She popped up on his left, dunked him, and disappeared again. When Aiden resurfaced, Mini and Rudy were out of the water, snickering.

"Aru, I swear-" he began, and started to get out of the water, but suddenly a force tackled him. He became hyperaware of where she was - her hands wrapped around his waist, her head on his chest, pushing him into the sand. 

He kissed her and felt her hold lessen.

"No fair! That's cheating!" Aru said once their heads were above water. Aiden smiled at Mini and Rudy howling and laughing. "Well, to be continued then," he said, and Aru tackled him again, leaving him to wonder why he had never wanted to get in the ocean in the first place.
