"Y/n!” my shoulder was pushed around, leaving me to be woken up by my sister.
Disoriented, I looked up to her as she exited the car, “Huh?”
“We’re here?” she grumbles, probably still angry over our brother's insults earlier.
Sliding out of the car on her side I glance around at the scenery, “So this is Malibu?” I ask, looking at the other houses in the cul-de-sac.
“Mom, how did we go from a two bedroom to this?” Angel mutters seeing the two story house we park in front of.
Alex, who is Angel’s twin slings his backpack over his shoulder, “I thought there would be more pink.” he jokes.
“Joshua” she sighs mentioning his middle name, “pink isn’t-”
“Mom, he’s telling a dumb Barbie doll joke.” Angel interrupts as I lean back down to grab the few cardboard boxes we set on the ground.
“Oh-”
It was a dig at our personal choices because both of them wanted to watch Oppenheimer but I wanted to watch Barbie so we split up and went our different ways at the movie theater. Sadly even my parents went to watch the movie with them leaving me alone to watch the doll in pink.
“Hi! Are you the new neighbors?” A preppy voice questions causing me to lift the boxes up to look at her.
It was a blonde girl with blue eyes, around her stood four other girls. I smile seeing the blonde’s eyes widen as they reach me. “I-Uh, Hi! I’m Barbie.” She finally gets out.
The name caused my siblings to laugh, “Is that your real name? Like the doll?”
“Doll? What doll?” she asks only to have the girls beside her push her away.
“Sorry, we have to get to work” The girl with two bun braids says getting into a vehicle.
“I’m not the only one tripping on that right?” Mother asks, watching them drive away.
“It could just be a coincidence.” I mutter leaning on one side as the front door opens up.
“You could have called!” A man stepped out of the house to greet us.
That is my father. He's been in this house for about a week now since work started earlier for him than it did my mother. So we stayed back packing the last few things in the old apartment while he traveled from Georgia to here.
"Angel help your brother with the last bags." My father says after hugging her then moving onto me, “I hope it wasn't too much being stuck between those two?”
Angel and Alex are quite a destructive force, they used to be the sweetest to each other when they were kids. Except after puberty they had fights like every single day.
