"Hey! Over here, Kei," Keira's bestfriend, Lindsey, called her as she smiled running towards her with neated uniform inside her toga, straightened hair, fixed make-up, and her hands holding her certificates. "Where's your Dad," Lindsey asked as Keira paused a bit looking down on the ground. "Maybe he's busy so he... he'll come a bit late--." Keira was interrupted by Lindsey's mom, Cara, saying, "There the both of you are," while brightfully smiling as Val joined them and added, "Wait, lemme get my pho~~one and...," she got her phone coming from her bag and focused her camera to Val, Lindsey, and Keira with her eyes seriously narrowing, "Uhh... could you get closer to Keira a bit, Val? A~~and a little more, straighten your certificates," she paused briefly as Val placed his arm around Keira, and Cara smiled again along with her eyes with Lindsey teasing Keira on her brother and their mother continued: "Perfect, just uh.. now smile~~e."
Just as she snapped the camera taking a picture of them, Keira also went back from the reverie when her Dad snapped his fingers while the two of them are sitting on his office sofas, facing each other as Keira confusely asked, "Hmm?" He replied and kind of annoyingly also asked, "I said... I'm not allowing you to go on that... trip, we're going abroad for you sister's graduation a week from now. Didn't you wanted to go?" He was sometimes been like this, not making Keira go out when other of her friends are having fun. "But it's our--," he interrupted what she tried to say and said, "What if something happens there to you? Who will take responsibility? It's neither your school nor your friends will."
"It's not like something will really happen, Dad. I will even come back 2 days before we'll take the flight to Washington. Just this once please," Keira desperately wanted to go and took effort of persuading her father yet he blankly looked at her eyes that clearly still said, 'No.' After seconds of his silence, he stood up went back to his desk, ignoring what Keira just explained. So this is gonna be it, Dad. Nevermind, it's not that I will really need your permission to be happy, Keira thought as she also stood up, and left by turning the door knob of her dad's office with her eyes facing the floor.
As she closed the door, her pocket vibrated two times saying: 'Penelope sent 2 messages.' She tapped on the notification and read Penelope's messages in their gc where they chat involving things such as gatherings.
"Hey, guys. So for our trip 2 days from now, I'll take care of our transportation. No worries. Mom got us a ceres bus," with a following message, "And I got the driver as well."After seeing her messages, Keira chatted her directly with only the two of them can see what they're chatting while she's going down the hall to head on the elevator, "So Pen, about that trip... I wanted to help for the food but yeah, Dad's not allowing me to go."
"But you can just sneek out, can't you?" Penelope chatted and added, "You'll miss out all the fun, girl. Come with us?" Keira came into thinking while clicking the call button of the elevator. Then, decided to go with her friends, not considering what her dad had just said. She felt as if agreeing to the days that will make her happy yet also insecure. Definitely the days that her dad will make his head be a volcano, preparing to blow. She flicked her hand to reply, "Yeah, sure," Penelope then answered back, "Nice."
Later after, Keira made Lindsey's phone rang as she called her, "Hey Linds, can I sleep over there later," she asked while the elevator opened and made a sound, 'ding' as Lindsey answered with a question and a loud noise coming from her surroundings, "What?! Can you repeat that?!" Obvious that someone can say that she was busy.
Keira groaned and rolled her eyes while she entered the elevator and pressed the ground floor button, "Can I go there?! Sleep over?!" Lindsey replied to Keira's questions after she yelled, "HEY!! DON'T EAT THAT DONUT LOOKING TOY, GAB. Hmm?! Sleep over? Uh sure... I'm kinda busy babysitting my little brother but mom's gonna be home soon. So... later's okay. But... why though?"
