All it takes is for one mistake to change your whole life. You see a lot of things when you feel like the world is against you. When no one is in your corner and you just have no where to turn. I was a master at self sabotage. I was labeled a defiant, rebellious soul. I didn't want to be, but I didn't like being told what to do.

My name is Chloe Dunn and I am the daughter of President Phix Dunn. My mother died of a robbery gone wrong when I was a young girl. It's always just been my dad and I. When I was younger, he spent all his time with me. He gave me everything my heart desired. When I turned 12 he met Eva Lyles. She had four sons, Deek Keith Caden and Haden. Two sets of twin boys. My dad fell in love with her. She hated the fact I was a girl. She despised me, but daddy told her to find a medium. He only tolerated her because she fell pregnant with my baby brother, Miles.

I didn't know that he fathered another child until one day he brought him home. He was five and I was 13. He took a liking to me right away. He didn't like the twins, quads as I called them. This angered Eva. Daddy was going to marry her, but he caught her trying to weasel her way into one of his many business partner's bedroom. She blamed me for ruining the game she had going with my dad. He refused to let Miles go and challenged her on custody rights.

I would later learn that I would be responsible for Miles majority of the time.  Daddy worked a lot as President and we had security detail just to go to the bathroom.  Miles was a good kid, but he want my responsibility. I told dad that on my 15th birthday. Miles was saddened I viewed him as a burden and he pulled away from me.

We had a maid named Olla. She has been with me since daddy became President. She knew I was lonely and she knew her about Miles before I did. She took over caring for Miles. I spent my time in the library, reading. Daddy would send the bodyguards after me everyday. I asked them to leave me alone. Max, the main bodyguard would always stay with me and find himself a book or two. He was my favorite. The media was always looking for a story to publish. So when they fabricated the story that max and I had a secret relationship, daddy fired him. Though I told him nothing was going on, he believed the media. This is how I got the label defiant and rebellious. I kept in contact with Max.

The media was always taking photos and reporters were always surrounding me when I managed to evade security. I would give my honest opinions about how I felt, but it would always be spun differently from how I stated it. That's how I found myself in the possession of a terrorist group. They were angry my dad didn't pass a bill on gun control and had grabbed me on my way out of the library.

I was lightly tortured, composted to the others I saw they had. They used me to get my dad to pass the bill on gun control. I begged daddy in the phone call they made not to do it. I paid for it once the call ended. I was roughed up moreso than normal. I spent 16 days captive. In that time I refused to eat and barely drank. I passed out. When I came to, Max was sitting at my bedside. He only smiled and got up to go tell my dad I was awake I'm sure. They exchanged some words and then he returned to my bedside. Daddy tried to talk to me but I turned my back to him. Once he was gone, Max spoke.

Your dad gave my job back, since I was the one who found you. Chloe are you okay?

I continued to face away from a I answered his questions.

I'm okay I guess Max. He didn't even try to find me sooner. He was going to give them what they wanted. I bet he welcomed you looking for me, but two weeks ago, he was angry the media painted you my secret lover.

You're right. Do you know why I have a peculiar looking for you?

No. I just thought that you enjoyed my company.

Your mom was my friend. When your dad treated all the staff like we were peasants, she treated us nicely. Your grandfather was hard on your dad and her in turn was hard on us. Your mom, she was always nice Chloe.
