The Life Of A Horse 3-Eclipse's Adventure

Chapter 19

Wild Heart's POV

You are the stupidest person ever. How? I asked her. You are waiting a month for him to heal when you can use your obvious HEALING powers. She said this as I was pacing back and forth in the cave. I stopped immediately. "I AM stupid!" I accidentally say out loud.

Everyone looks at me weirdly and I look back, embarrassed. "I have to go," I say to them. I take off at a gallop towards Eclipse even if it is night.

It takes an hour and a half to get there and when I do, the sun is starting to rise. They are asleep thankfully. Ok Amber. You ready? I say to her. She doesn't answer but she doesn't need to. I can tell she is.

I shift quickly and bend over Eclipse with my hands out, reaching toward him. By the time my hands touch him they are already glowing a soft amber color, like the energy trail. The amber color drains out of my hands and into his body. Soon his whole body is glowing. He jumps up and I pull my hands back quickly on instinct.

"Eclipse!" I say. I go to hug him but I realize I am human instantly by his face. I run off into the trees as fast as possible. Unfortunately he follows me and of course he is much faster as a horse than me, as a human.

After jumping in front of me to stop me from running he looks at me. He whinnies to me trying to talk but I can't understand as a human. I shake my head. "I can't understand you," I say.

Suddenly the ground seems to be shaking slightly and sounds of many animals stampeding it seems surround us. The animals come in view and that's when I see what they are, wolves.

"Eclipse shift!" I shout as loud as I can. I climb the tree we were standing next to hoping that wolves can't climb. Unfortunately he doesn't follow what I said and he spins slowly in a circle looking where to run. When all else fails try mind link. "Eclipse you must shift and climb a tree to get away. If not you will die!" I yell in his mind.

Finally he follows and shifts quickly before climbing up the tree next to mine. "You're?" "Yeah," I say in his mind. I shift to show him and he just stares, shocked. I shift back and look down at the wolves that are angrily staring up at us.

I smile at them below us. Are any of my powers useful at the moment? I ask her. Umm Tracking, Mind Linking, Shifting- She is cut off by my scream as Eclipse loses balance and falls. The Amber Pull! Don't you dare block me out now. DO THE AMBER PULL!

The Amber Pull is hard to do. You have to be fully concentrated. Like 100%. I push her out of my mind as I focus on Eclipse being nearly eaten alive by wolves. I reach my hands out toward him. My hands glow amber again as the Amber line reaches through the pile of wolves.

The Amber line grabs his body and pulls him up. I notice his body full of scratches and bites as they were eating him alive. The Amber Line slips as it pulls him and I scream. I need to focus. I forget about the blood completely covering his body and continue the pull. I bring him up to my tree and finally I gently lay him down beside me.

I can already feel the effect. The Amber marks as my energy. When I use a lot I become weak and if I use too much I may die. Suddenly I realize the situation as I notice his lack of breath. I let out a silent scream. I have to bring him back from the dead which will take almost as much energy as I have and I have already used a lot.

You have to do it. If you don't then you will die too. She says. She is right of course. Mates can't go more than a day with their mate dead.

I reach my hands out for the third time. This time though, they are shaking. The Amber color has faded a little and as it enters his body I feel a sharp pain. You're giving too much! She screams inside my head. I try to pull back. To take my energy back but it keeps entering him.

Sometime, I don't know when, I black out. I fall back still feeling my energy leave my body and enter his. Somewhere else (it surely didn't feel like earth) I heard a gasp and someone scream, "Wild Heart!"

Eclipse's POV

The first thing I noticed is that I was alive and I knew that was impossible with the wolves eating me alive. But somehow I was and I felt perfectly fine. Maybe a little beat up and tired but hardly any pain.

The second thing I noticed was Wild Heart was dead. Or she appeared to be. I screamed her name and slapped her face trying to get her to wake up, but she didn't. And after a minute I knew what I needed to do. I touched her face first to make sure she was dead but she didn't feel dead cold. She felt cold cold, like in the winter time.

I didn't want to try anything if she was alive so I touched her face again trying to get her to wake up. "Wild Heart, are you ok? Get up." I tried everything from pushing her lightly. (Obviously not so she could possibly fall of the tree) I slapped her face lightly then harder. I talked to her getting louder every time until I was almost screaming. Nothing worked. Finally I heard a voice. But not out loud. It was in my head. She died, Eclipse. To save you.
