TRIGGER WARNING FOR SUICIDE ATTEMPT ( FLASHBACK SCENE ) AND MENTIONS OF SUICIDE THROUGHOUT THE CHAPTER
Pulling the first one open without regard for what was in there, he pushed Cheong-san in first. Cheong-san knew he couldn't afford to hesitate, so he climbed in and started up the pipe. Hyun-woo wasn't far behind, a zombie grabbing onto his foot as he tried to climb up. He heard the sound of an arrow whistling through the air as the zombie collapsed. He didn't have time to check who was out there.
"Do you wash your ass?" Hyun-woo panted teasingly as the two climbed up the pipes. Cheong-san didn't reply, staring up into the darkness above. Hyun-woo looked past Cheong-san's thigh and bit the inside of his cheek.
Have I just sealed in Cheong-san's death?
Cheong-san grabbed the phone out of his pocket with shaky hands, nearly dropping it, using his back and pushing against the pipe lightly to hold himself in place. Hyun-woo did the same, moving to the side a little so he could be next to him but under him at the same time.
"It's on seven percent," Cheong-san whispered to Hyun-woo. He sighed softly, looking up and watching the shorter try to call 112. It stayed on the 'connecting' screen for a few moments too long. Cheong-san pressed the phone to his ear.
A noise was let out of the phone that Hyun-woo didn't recognize.
"Why isn't it working?" Cheong-san murmered, glancing down at Hyun-woo. He shrugged one shoulder.
"Try again."
The same sound.
"Six percent," Cheong-san whispered.
"Try to climb higher, better reception," Hyun-woo whispered. Cheong-san nodded, climbing higher and trying again, holding the phone higher.
"I-its not working," Cheong-san's whole body shook, leaning against the wall again as the same tone sounded.
He let out a quiet cry as he climbed higher, trying again. Pressing the phone to his ear. Hearing the same fucking sound.
Cheong-san screamed, closing his eyes tight. Hyun-woo whimpered at the loudness, not being able to use his hands to press to his ears as they were partially holding him up.
Cheong-san breathed heavily, not noticing or hearing Hyun-woo's whimper. The older twin grunted, climbing next to him, squeezing into the little space that there was.
He reached for his hand as Cheong-san let out quiet sobs, his eyes watering himself. He cried as he flopped his hand onto his lap, Hyun-woo shakily taking it into his freezing grip.
Cheong-san held onto his dirty hand as if it was the only thing keeping him alive.
Together, the two cried. Their sobs echoing through the narrow area. The cried for the loss of their friends, the loss of their teachers, the loss of hope.
After losses, there's almost always a win. A medal of participation, a pat on the back, a sympathetic smile. No matter how small, there was always a win after a series of losses.
Where was their win?

Su-hyeok couldn't bring himself to throw away On-jo's name tag he had in his pocket. Not until he talked about the whole situation with his boyfriend's sister with Hyun-woo.
He looked at On-jo, who stood silently out the window. He got up and walked next to her after hearing Ji-min and Hyo-ryung talking quietly about how close On-jo and Cheong-san were with each other and how much On-jo would miss her brother.
