Moving In

You're in your cell at the prison, packing up your stuff.
"Hey, (Y/N)," a voice comes from behind you. A hand swoops in front of your face, a thumb brushes your bottom lip, an index finger boops your nose, and muscular arms wrap around your waist.

"Hey, Carl," you say, reaching back with one hand to ruffle Carl's hair, using the other to continue packing up your stuff.

"What're you doin, babe?" Carl asks, noticing what you're up to.

"Packing up my stuff. Rick said that they're gonna need my cell for Sasha or someone so I have to move in with someone else," you reply, rolling up your bedding.

"Did he say who you're gonna move in with?" Carl inquires, tucking his chin into the crook of your neck.

"He said I could choose who," you say with a smirk, turning your head and giving him a peck on the lips.

"Hmmm, I wonder who you'll choose?" He says sarcastically. "I think you'll choose Daryl."

You laugh loudly. "Yeah, that's for sure. I bet he'd be happy with that new living arrangement so much too."

Carl giggles. "You need help moving your crap?"

You whip your one bag over your shoulder. "Nah, it's one bag. It's not gonna kill me."

Carl gently tries to take it away from you. "It looks heavy though."

Knowing Carl wouldn't let you carry it no matter how stubborn you are, you let go. "Such a gentleman."

Carl blushes a teensy bit and slings it over his shoulder with one hand, taking one of yours in the other. You walk together to his cell, never breaking the hand holding until you go to unpack your stuff.
"So do you want to sleep together or on separate bunks?" Carl asks, twisting his shoe on some dirt and staring down at it.

You start blushing furiously, realizing a that concept that you hadn't contemplated yet for some reason. "Ummm, I guess we could sleep on the same bunk?"

"O-okay," he says, blushing like a tomato.

That night they laid down together, laying back to back.

After many minutes of silence that felt like hours, you finally broke the silence. "Why are we so awkward like this? We're so normal together during the day, we're just laying together."

"I dunno," says Carl. You noticed him turning towards your back, nuzzling into your hair. You reach back and run your fingers through his hair.

After a little while you turned around and stroked his cheek, and he returned the gesture.

In unison, you and Carl leaned in and gently kissed for a little while.

"I love you, Carl," you whisper almost inaudibly, blushing bright red into the dark.

"I love you too, (Y/N)," Carl replies, kissing your forehead.

"Goodnight."

"Sweet dreams, babe."
