I was getting ready just like every Saturday to go out and race. I had a very specific routine that I had to follow or my entire day was thrown off! I got up turned up my music and went and hopped in the shower, after my shower was finished I put on my lucky green knee high socks a pair of jeans, and a plain white t-shirt (I'm not really the girl that likes to dress up). After I was done upstairs I headed downstairs to get breakfast. My mom and little sister were already awake and sitting at the kitchen table. "Morning" my mom said as I walked into the kitchen to pour myself a cup of steaming hot black coffee. "How did you sleep?" she asked, "Fine, I got just the amount I needed to be able to focus all I need to on the big day today!" I responded. Today was a big day for my family and I, my brothers and I were racing for the McLaren Cup! To win this cup would put us as one of the highest ranked racer out there. "Just remember, go out there to have fun, don't let the competition over rule the fact that racing is suppose to be fun!" yelled my mom as I grabbed my bagel out if the toaster, and ran out the door to go and check on my baby. I headed to the garage my brothers and dad were already there talking about the race today. "I'm just ready to go out there and show mister know it all Douglas what for!" said Austin, my oldest brother. The conversation continued on, but I was to concentrated on going to make sure my ride was ready for her big day out on the track. Even though we had raced many times, I had never been in a race that was this important to my family. I needed to make sure that everything was perfect, I couldn't afford for anything to go wrong. I walked over to my beautiful baby blue and green bike, she had never looked so perfect. My dad made sure everything was tip top and ready in the engine and suspension, now to just win the race. Everything was going so well today, there was no way anything would go wrong! We started to load up the bikes and gear onto the trailer to head out, everybody was so ready for today!! It even seemed like the whole town was coming by the house to wish us luck, and to say they were coming to see us whoop some butt! We only lived about and hour from the track, but that hour seemed like forever! I just tried to keep to myself most of the trip, to stay concentrated. We finally arrived at the track, even though it was rowdy and there were thousands of people around I never felt more at home. The scene was beautiful, and it was a great day to get out there! Once we got all the bikes and gear unloaded, and went and checked our selves in, we atoll had a couple of hours until we had to be lined up on the track so I decided to go and check out some of the new competition. We had been racing against most of the same people our entire lives, but sometimes we would get a few newcomers. Today we had a couple, but one that stood out to me was a racer named alex. I knew him, but I couldn't place my finger on how that was. I walked up to introduce myself "hi, my name is kensington!" I said to him as he stood up from looking under his bike, 'hey, I'm alex" he said ash he shook my hand. "Are you racing today?" He asked, "Yeah, me and my two brothers are in the line up" I said awkwardly, "well, I got alex few more tweaks to do to my bike before it's ready to go, so I guess I'll see you out there" and he gave me the get ready to race smile. It. was getting closer to time, so I headed back to the trailer to get my gear on and my bike ready to go. Dad gave all three of us a hug, and wished us luck. He told us all the be safe and to have fun doing what we loved! I've started my bike at leat a thousand times, but the sound of her running and the feel of rumble under me would never get old! We headed to the track to line up, we all three were side by side in the line up. The lights changed, red...yellow...green, and the gun went off. Little did I know that in just a short amount of time my life was going to change forever.
