It felt like forever before we got to my next station –still don't know what that means-. In truth, it probably only took about five minutes.

The whole time I've been non-stop thinking about Kassie and how/ what she was doing without me next to her.

When we finally got there I returned to the real world. Whenever I did there was a lady with long light pink hair that goes halfway down her back. Her bangs fall right in between dark pink eyes and on the side of her head that fall even with her shoulders. On her head was a camouflage beret on her head. She wore camouflage pants and a plain black muscle shirt with big black combat boots. She had fingerless gloves on.

Her feet here spread apart and she had her hands crossed behind her back holding them. She was standing at the end of a table. When the receptionist and I got to the table the lady standing at the end of the table nodded and the receptionist nodded back and left without ever saying a word.

"Ok before we get started I want you to stand up as tall as you can and stay like that so I can get an idea of what I have to work with here." She told me in a serious voice.

At first, I had a funny look on my face. In return, she looked at me with a face that said, 'If I were you I wouldn't make that face again.'

Feeling intimidated I took that look off my face fast and did what she ordered.

While I was standing like that she would walk around me in a circle looking at me up and down from head to toe. I could hear her saying, "Mmmhmmm. Good, good." When she was done she said, "Ok you can relax now if you want to."

Right when she said that my shoulders let go. It felt like something heavy was holding them up and wouldn't let me relax until she gave the order.

"You must be wondering what I was doing just now and also wondering what my name is. Is that right?" She asked in a voice that sounded like she was making fun of me.

I nodded slowly and said, "Yes that is right and I was also wondering what the doc and receptionist mean when they say next station?"

Before she answered any of my questions she went and sat down in a chair at the table. She put her hand out toward the other chair just on the opposite side of her. I took it.

"Would you like a bottle of water?"

"Yes please."

She handed me the bottle and began explaining everything to me. "Well first off let me introduce myself. My name is Sergeant Elizabeth Taylor. I am a specialist in weapons and the gear you will need to prepare for the army. Also what the doctor and the receptionist mean when they say 'next station' just means your next spot for you to get ready to go to the other one. You have a lot to do in just three stations. Also, the reason why I told you to stand up straight for as long as you can is so I can get a good look and read on you and from what I got it seems you are going to be easy to train."

She pulled the same manila folder, as the doctor had, on her right of her and looked through it. "I am also reading your medical records Dr. Lorenzo gave me. He says that you are intelligent, athletic, and healthy. Just the three things you need to be perfectly fit to be in the army. Also, you look smart enough to handle, disassemble and reassemble your own weapons and guns. That is very good news."

"Disassemble and reassemble? Do you mean I am going to have to put together and take apart a gun? I've never done that before in my life." I asked her very fast and shocked and a little bit scared.

She nodded her head and told me very calmly, "Yes that is correct and eventually you're going to have to do that blindfolded as well."

I must have looked at her like she was crazy and I was about to freak out when she said, "You seem and sound like the person that can do that entirely fast, even if this is your first time. Just one more thing you are going to name all of the pieces of the gun by memory also."

She paused to clap her hands and looked up and said, "You are the first person like this in a few years. This is exciting. Now let's see if I am right."

I looked at her with a face I made at her the first time and this time she didn't give the same face as before. Instead, she just shook her head and smiled, "Don't worry you are going to do fine. You have about four months to do and remember all of this. So you have plenty of time to do this ok."

When she said that I felt a big weight fall from my chest and it felt like I could breathe again. "Your first day of training begins tomorrow morning at dawn, but for now you will sleep in your bunk room. After a long day like today, you seem like you need your sleep."

Sergeant Elizabeth Taylor led me to my bunk room just a mile away from the building we were both just in. "You will have your bunk room."

When we made it to the bunk room it looked cozy if you're in the whole building looking like a log cabin but without the chimney. The inside also looked just like a log cabin. She patted me on the shoulder and said, "Make yourself at home, your luggage should be here and the showers are just on the other side of this building," pointing south of the building, "Also if you have any more questions please don't be hesitant to ask ok."

Before she could leave I asked her, "Actually I have one question to ask before you go."

She looked at me and said, "Sure, go ahead and ask."

I looked down and hesitated if I should ask the question. When I looked back up she looked at me ready for me to ask my question. "If I wanted to write a letter to my wife I can right? It will be sent to her right."

She smiled at me and said, "Yes it will." She paused for a moment then continued, "Also not to be mean but how old are you that you already have a wife? You seem too young to me to be married."

I chuckled at her and said," Don't worry I am used to it. I am 25 years old. I loved Kassie since we both started head-start together. We started dating when we were both in the sixth grade. I have never stopped loving her since then."

She smiled and said, "Wow now that's what I call true love, getting married at your age. You got married before me and my husband did, just by a few years." She just kept shaking her head like she really couldn't believe it. When she snapped back to the real world she shook her head and said, "Anyway, you should take a shower and get to sleep as early as you can because remember your training starts at dawn."

With that said she looked at me with a smile and left the bunk room.
