I have been here at the preparation stations getting ready for the army that I haven't been able to write to Kassie in months. I know she'll start to worry if I don't write soon. Hopefully today I can.
(Kassie reads it in Justin's voice.)

Dear Kassie,                            June 21, 1964

It feels like forever since I left your side. I miss you so much and I haven't been able to stop thinking about you ever since I came here four months ago.

You wouldn't believe the training I have to do here. I now know how to assemble and disassemble a working gun. I even know how to do it blindfolded. I also know all of the names of the parts of the gun. Don't worry – if I know you as well as I think I do- you are probably thinking that I accidentally hurt myself don't worry I didn't.

My teacher Sergeant Elizabeth Taylor is the one teaching me all about how to disassemble and reassemble the guns and also the different names of them and the many different parts.

She also told me the first day I got there that I should have learned all of this in about four months' time. Well... just to say she was wrong; just by a couple of months though because I learned all of that in only two months. She also told me she hadn't had a student like me in a long time. So she was excited to get ready and teach me everything she knows.

I am sorry I didn't get to write to you all this time but I have been getting up at dawn just about every morning for my training and after I am done I just fall on my bed and fall asleep after a long cold shower after long days of training.

I love you forever and always,
Justin Knight

P.S. I can't wait to read about everything you have done since I came here. Also, I can't wait until I get to see you again.
