The One That Got Away

Prologue

"Do you really have to go?" She whispered in a low voice. Tears were already falling in the corner of her eyes. She could feel his hot breath. "This hurts me too." He whispered back. "Can't you just stay here?" She sounded desperate. The girl turned around and hugged him real close. She let herself fall into his chest. Surprisingly, he hugged her back. He rested his chin on the top of her head. He was feeling something he has never felt before. It hurt so much in his chest. His heart was aching. She was really the only person who he ever cared after the death of his parents. She was the person who taught him how to be alive and a human again. "I have to go. I have to be stronger." He spoke softly and ran his fingers through her soft teal locks. His clothing was getting wetter and wetter as time goes by. "I promise I'll get back someday." She looked up after hearing the words. "You promise?" It pained him to see her hurting that way. He quickly nodded. A small smile formed by the girl as she gave him one last kiss. "Please don't be in love with someone else while I'm gone." He whispered and in the blink of an eye, he was gone. Leaving the girl alone, in the darkness of the night.
